THE BREAD OF LIFE
Friday – January 4, 2019, Tevet 27, 5779

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this powerful study of the Book of John. God is so very good to give us His Word that we not have to stumble about in the dark. Again, I want to remind those of you reading this on Facebook to hit your “like” and “share” buttons that more can benefit from this Word of God. The fact that you read, acknowledge, or even comment says to me you find value in the teachings and perhaps others you know will as well. When you share it multiples the reach of this ministry. When I left off this teaching yesterday, I was talking about the peoples request of Jesus for Him to give them a sign and that they wanted a sign on the order of the manna God provided for their father’s in the desert. Jesus starts to talk to them about the difference between the manna the physical bread that sustains physical life for only a moment and the spiritual bread that brings eternal life. Jesus is telling them that He is that spiritual bread and if they will believe on Him, they will have eternal life. In another place we find the people asking for a sign, let’s look at Jesus’ response.
Matthew 12:38-41 (KJV)
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Of course, the sign of Jonas (Jonah) is far greater than the sign of manna in the desert (wilderness). Although impressive the manna was temporary, in response to another rebellious and adulterous generation, to provide for a generation who would believe God. We must ask ourselves are we a generation like these Scribes and Pharisees or the children of Israel at the Jordan River refusing to enter the Promised Land? Have we entered into all that Jesus has provided or are we shouting from the other side of the river how wonderful it is but failing to enter in? We also dear saints are a rebellious and adulterous generation. Will we repent and enter in or will we punt to another generation. Like these people in Capernaum are we asking for a sign, are we asking God to do something when all the while the ball is in our court? Understand dear children, the table is set, all that we need is provided to do the things Jesus did and the greater things. It is all done and available in extravagant abundance. Know this, He is not going to do it for us, all that He is ever going to do for us is done. We in faith, unwavering faith, guided by love, led of Holy Spirit must step into the gap, pick up the mantle of governance in this earth and get about the Father’s business! Awake, awake, awake, arise, and triumph!!! Dear Church, this the Word of the Lord unto each of us says the Voice from the Throne!
The featured picture today is of the Holy Place in the Tent of Meeting. There are three main pieces of furniture in the Holy Place which is separated from the Most Holy Place by a thick curtain or veil. The three pieces of furniture in the Holy Place are the Golden Lampstand or Menorah, the Alter of Incense, and the Table of Showbread with the bread upon it (fresh daily).

Notice there is a wall (curtain or veil) of separation between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. Although the bread (Jesus) was ready from the foundation of the world He had no legal standing to come before the Father, or present Himself and/or us at the Mercy Seat. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, paid the price of sin as a sinless unblemished Lamb of God, defeated Satan and his hoards in Hell with the Word of His testimony (Word of God) and His innocent Blood, was raised from the dead and restored fully as God. Now He is King of kings (you and me) and He is also our High Priest. He is all God in His function as Lord and King and all man in His function as High Priest. Now Christ Jesus is the High Priest who enters the Most Holy Place to mediate all things (the Covenant) that pertain to us and the Father. The wall of separation came down at the Resurrection.
Matthew 27:50-53 (KJV)
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Let us all prepare to rejoice with great joy!
Hebrews 9:24-28 (KJV)
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Lord willing, I will pick up with our text in John on Monday.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
