BETWEEN GOD AND THE CONGREGATION
Wednesday – October 2, 2019, Tishrei 3, 5780

Greetings precious brothers and sister, sons and daughters of the Most High God and welcome back to this empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. The featured pictures this week are from a recent overnight at Ocean Point Inn by my beautiful bride and yours truly. Ocean Point is located in East Boothbay and is a beautiful location and nice place to stay and has a very nice inhouse restaurant. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback support and to expand the reach of the Truth, the good news of the Kingdom of God. This is the message Jesus preached.
Mark 1:14-15 (KJV)
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
We are the sons of the Kingdom of God and have by birth (born again) inherited all the obligations and benefits of the Kingdom. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it aloud.
John 13:4-10 (KJV)
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
As we pick up our study today, I will start in verse five above. We see the basin (bason) with water which Jesus is going to use to wash the disciple’s feet. Remember this is not a ritual, a tradition, or requirement of the Church like Communion. Jesus is demonstrating a powerful Truth with this physical act, go back to last Friday and yesterday. The Lord has reminded me to bring forward the fact that this was established in the Old Covenant and we will review that for it seems to me we will have significant illumination as a result.
Exodus 30:17-21 (KJV)
17 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.
19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:
20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:
21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
In the Tabernacle and the Temple between the alter of sacrifice (Bronze Alter) and the tent of meeting which houses the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place was a basin (laver) for the priests to wash their hand and feet before entering the Tabernacle Tent (Tent of Meeting). The priest is between the people (or person) and God. You and I are kings and priests in the earth, in the priestly role we intercede (priestly role) for others, obtain mercy, and as kings dispatch the ministering spirits on their behalf to intervene in the situation(s). Notice this washing of the feet is a stature (command) forever. Jesus is bringing that forward in our minds. When we come before the Lord with dirty hands and feet, we bring death into our own lives and are of no benefit to others or the Kingdom. To effectively minister to other persons whom God calls us to intercede and bring the good news we must have clean hands and feet. Wow, this foot washing thing is way more than suspected, let us abandon the traditions which are without power. Let us hide the Truth, the Word, in our hearts which is full of Power.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
