FEAR NOT
Wednesday – August 21, 2019, Av 20, 5779

Greetings my dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International. I do appreciate each and every one of you who follow this blog (The Three Minute Word) seeing, reading, and diligently studying it either on Facebook, your email inbox, Twitter, or LinkedIn. If you are reading this on Facebook please take just a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback as well as spread the reach of the good news of the Kingdom of God. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of John, reading it aloud.
John 12:12-16 (KJV)
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
The feast referred to in our text is the Feast of the Lord called Passover. It is the first of the four spring feasts ordained, commanded of the Lord. There are seven Feasts of the Lord total, four in the spring, and three in the fall. These are all a prophetic illustration of the redemption to come. The four spring feasts were fulfilled in the first coming of Christ and the three fall feasts will be fulfilled with the Catching Away of the Church and the events to follow. Palm Sunday is on the 10th of Nisan which is the first month on the Hebrew calendar. Ten is the number of responsibilities. It was the responsibility of each family to select that unblemished lamb. In the record of the first Passover before the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt an unblemished lamb was set aside for sacrifice on the 14th of Nisan (Passover). Jesus is the unblemished lamb, the Lamb of God, and He presents Himself to all the people gathering for the Feast of Passover as well as the ruling religious people. As we move along in our study let’s give some thought to verse fifteen (number of rest or provision).
John 12:15 (KJV)
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
“Fear not” is a command found commonly in Scripture, sixty-three times in the King James Version of the Bible. This command is for good reason. Fear has torment and our Covenant involves no torment but love.
1 John 4:16-18 (KJV)
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
The antidote to fear is to believe the love that God has for us. Therefore, fear is believing that God will not do what He promised. Remember, that the God kind of love (agape) is selfless (opposite of selfish), it is observance of Blood Covenant, and is obedient to the Word (both God and man). Believing or faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). In our target verse, John 12:15, the subject or persons told not to fear are the daughters of Sion. The spelling Sion and Zion are interchangeable. Sion (Zion) is a hill of Jerusalem; figurative of the Church (militant or triumphant) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. So, the persons who are not to fear are the Church, it is you and me dear saints. The verse ends telling us that the King is coming. Notice the word “King” is capitalized referring to Divinity, referring to Jesus, the King of kings. We the daughters of Sion are not to fear for we are in Him, the King of kings for He has triumphed over His and our enemies. We in Him have also triumphed over them (Colossians 2:13-15).
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
In Him we are far above all principality, power, might, dominion, and all that is named in this world and all to come. He is the head of the Church and we are the body; the feet are in the body and all things are far beneath our feet. We are raised up with and in Him, Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Let’s believe it, think it, speak it, and act like it for the glory (to manifest the goodness) of God.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
