AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

HE THAT SAW IT BARE RECORD
Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this intensive Bible Study of the Book of John. God is so good dear ones, do not look to the left or the right but straight on to Him in whom we trust. Let us judge all things by the Word of God not our feelings or natural understanding. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture is a fall scene, thought you might enjoy that today rather than another winter scene. My experience is that winter is far more fun in pictures and movies than real life. You will recall that in our Bible Study Jesus, the Messiah, has gone to the Cross, has died spiritually, and now He has died physically. His soul (mind, will, and emotions) along with His dead spirit have descended into Hell. His body hangs on the Cross and the Jewish leaders want to get it and the two crucified with Him off the Cross so they can proceed with Passover. They are seemingly completely oblivious to the fact, the Truth, that The Lamb of God has just died for the sins of the whole world backward and forward in time. That is to say from the sin of Adam and Eve until the last sin before the New Heaven and New Earth. How good is our God? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:34-38 (KJV)
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
Those who have named Jesus as Lord are redeemed, with no record of sin, by His precious blood, the lamb without blemish and without spot (1 Peter 1:18-20). Before the Blood of Jesus all persons had an eternal existence, consciousness, but not eternal life (quickened spirit man) which is life as God knows life. Now, what about the water? We see the Word of God in Scripture as water, we are washed and made clean by the washing of the Word, God’s water. Jesus said living water would gush out of us. The Word was made flesh, came into the earth being the Lamb of God to give mankind eternal life, restoring immortality, and returning those who would believe to the family of God. All that He, Jesus, did was empowered of the Holy Spirit, the eternal Spirit.
Hebrews 9:14 (KJV)
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
This Eternal Spirit is the same Holy Spirit, the Comforter, our Teacher who legally returned to earth after the ascension of Jesus to the right hand of the Father on the Day of Pentecost. It is this same Eternal Spirit that empowers us to offer ourselves to God without spot for service. Our Heavenly Father sees us through the eyes of the Blood of Jesus and our righteousness purchased with that Blood. We are in the image of Christ Jesus, an exact duplicate of kind! How does the Holy Spirit work with us? He like the ministering spirits (angels) work with our faith filled thoughts and the faith filled words of our mouth. Anointed of the Holy Spirit our words (originally His Words) will accomplish that which they are sent to accomplish. We are what we think and our world is framed by our words. If we want a different life than we must speak His words, think His thoughts and cast way our own reasonings and the thoughts of our spiritual enemies. The water is the fullness of the Holy Spirit poured out into the earth. He does not and cannot work independent of our thoughts and words. God thoughts and words bring the manifestation of God into our lives, other thoughts and words bring the manifestation of the curse into our lives.
Looking forward into verse thirty-five who is it that is baring record. It is the testimony of the early Church leaders that the Apostle John, the one whom Jesus loved, the one who leaned on Jesus’ breast is the author and it was written when he lived in Ephesus. There is some controversy about the human authorship of the Book of John but it is settled that the real author, like all the other Books of the Bible, is God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
