MORE ABOUT THE LIGHT
Tuesday – September 10, 2019, Elul 10, 5779
Greeting partners and friends of this Ministry and welcome back to this engaging Bible Study of the Book of John. The featured pictures this week will include Donna’s raised garden. Now let’s delve as deep as the Holy Spirit will take us today into our study. First let’s read our primary text aloud.
John 12:34-36 (KJV)
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
I will pick up today with our discussion of the light. The light I am speaking of is the Word of God, the Truth, all else is darkness. Let me add one little tidbit of clarification that perhaps will be of help in thinking about information, knowledge. Knowledge from the Word of God is light. Worldly knowledge contrary to the Word of God about how to think, talk, and live is darkness, evil darkness. It is contrary to the Word of God and brings stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives, it is evil, it is sin. Other knowledge like say how a car engine works is dark knowledge. It is not dark knowledge in the sense that it is evil knowledge like how the world operates contrary to the Word of God but is incomplete until light is applied. For example, a Christian mechanic who knows who he or she is in Christ Jesus, and knows what the Word of God says about what is possible for them will have solutions unrealized by the world. I want to return to the Scripture from Job that I presented yesterday for a few moments then I will pick up with verse thirty-five of our primary text.
Job 22:27-29 (KJV)
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
I am still talking about light and operating in the light where nothing is impossible to us according to Jesus. The prayer in verse twenty-seven has to do with intercession for others, and to pay our vows is to recite our obligations before God and our determination (promise) to perform them. We then make decrees or commands (which the Lord performs in various ways). It is our part or obligation to issue the command and it is Gods part to bring it to pass as He sees best. Our Scripture tells us that our decrees are established or done and of course we do all of it in the name of Jesus. The light shining upon our ways is the Word of God, the Word upon which the decrees are based. Prayer is where we determine the will of God, and intercede for others. We then issue commands to move the Hand of God and the Kingdom of God forward for the glory of God. Find the will of God then give the orders (decrees, commands) to accomplish the will of God. We have the authority, and He has the Power. The Power is not released until the authority is exercised.
Isaiah 45:11 (KJV)
11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
If any reading this are getting tired of the same o same o you might just give this some consideration. After all this is how it has worked from the very beginning with God Himself giving the first demonstrations in the creation account. As I have repeatedly pointed out in the Ministry of Jesus, Jesus never asked the Father to do anything, He issued the command and the Father did the works. Why? He never said anything He did not hear the Father say, He did not do anything He did not see the Father doing, and the Father always did the works. Jesus did all in faith, motivated by love, and led of the Holy Spirit. What about us? Remember we are to do all that He did, Jesus was a demonstration project not a special case with regard to doing the works prepared for us and for Him from the foundation of the world.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
