AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

PURPLE ROBE
Greetings precious children of the Father and welcome back to this powerful and life altering Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share these Bible teachings as widely as possible. The featured picture today is of a train trestle, a beautiful scene. I don’t recall if this was contributed by one of our partners or our good friend Joe Getchell Jr. COVID-19 remains a reality in our lives. Please do not fatigue in well doing. Let’s focus on the blessing and not the curse, focus on Jesus and His Word and not the lies of the devil. Obey the mandates (1 Peter 2:13-15, Titus 3:1-2) and please the Heavenly Father. Let’s try trading in our rebellious attitudes and actions for a submissive and supportive attitude. Let’s allow the Lord to show us, all of us, how to turn what the devil intends for evil to good. The author of rebellion is the devil. With the Lord’s help, proper Godly attitude, and focus we can explode spiritually expanding the Kingdom of God for the glory of God. This is a wonderful time to prune away all the unproductive and counterproductive areas of our lives. This will not happen for those in disobedience to the governing authorities which is sin. Let’s be a blessing to those in authority over us and not be a curse. Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary text of our Bible Study and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:1-5 (KJV)
1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
Jesus is now just a couple of hours from the Cross, being made sin for us, dying spiritually (not the soul – mind, will, and emotions). Then He died physically, descended into Hell, preached the gospel to the captives in Abraham’s Bosom and led them on to Heaven at His Resurrection. He was then resurrected from the dead and restored fully as God, a finished work. Although Pilate repeatedly says that he found no fault with Jesus you can see that he (Pilate) is a ruthless and brutal man. Thus far we have seen Jesus bruised, chastised, and now whipped (strips), all for us, and the worst is yet to come. Looking forward to the Cross Isaiah had this to say.
Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The Apostle Peter looking back at the Cross had this to say. I believe that the healing spoken of in both Scriptures is not only talking about physical healing although that is included but our total healing, spirit, soul, and body.
1 Peter 2:23-24 (KJV)
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Jesus came to go to the Cross and die for us, but we are not called to give our physical life for Him. That is not to say that Christians are not killed for believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ, they are, however that is never the will of God. Does getting killed for Jesus or walking away from an impossible situation bring glory (show the goodness of God) to God. I hope we all see that walking away, just as Jesus did in His Ministry until it was time for the Cross, shows the goodness of God (glory). We are to die to self and live to Christ. When we focus on Him, He focuses on us. We are to live for Him not die for Him. As we continue with our primary Bible text, we see them putting a crown of thorns on our dear Saviors head and placing a purple robe upon Him. The crown of thorns had to be excruciating and so starts the shedding of His innocent Blood for our redemption and our return to God’s original purposes. They are making fun of our Lord, what a shameful sight. He did it all for us! As we finish for today, we hear them sarcastically calling our Lord King of the Jews (which He is) and slapping Him with their hands.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
