THE PRINCE CAST OUT
Wednesday – September 4, 2019, Elul 4, 5779

Greetings to the precious partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word Blog. Also, welcome back to this empowering (to the extent we choose) Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give feedback to this ministry and to be a participant in spreading the good news of Scripture, of the Christ. The featured pictures this week are of various Churches here in Maine, I hope you enjoy. Of course, these buildings are not the Church, we the people of God are the Church. Now, let’s turn our attention to today’s Bible Study by turning our attention to the primary Bible text and reading it aloud.
John 12:28-34 (KJV)
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
Today let’s pick up more or less where we left off yesterday but moving forward in verse thirty-one. We talked yesterday that Jesus told them that the time for justice, for the judgment of the world had come. That judgment was not of the systems per se that were established by Heaven in the beginning but the peoples in those systems that had perverted the systems, the pillars, the spheres of influence. Jesus then goes on to say, “now shall the prince of this world be cast out”. I suspect we know that the prince of this world is the Devil and he continues at work to this very day, so what is Jesus saying? The question is whether the casting out was at the time of the Cross or some other date. According to the Holman Christian Standard Bible, Reverse Interlinear Bible the word “now” in this case is being used as an adverb. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary “now” (as adverb of date, a transition or emphasis); also, as noun or adjective present or immediate, henceforth, + hereafter, of late, soon, present, or this (time). It seems to me that we can see this as meaning henceforth and hereafter. Let me explain.
A prince is the one with highest authority. Authority is not power so although one may have full or highest authority, they do not have the power to make people do things. The Devil never could make people do things and God will not make people do things. In the beginning Adam (mankind) was given dominion or authority over all the earth. They were also given the Blessing which is the supernatural Power of God who would act in response to legal authority supernaturally. When man sinned, that authority transferred to the Devil. The Devil however cannot trigger supernatural events but by deception cause a lot of havoc in the earth among saint and sinner alike. Consider the following verse.
Romans 6:16 (KJV)
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Whose servant, are we? We are a servant of God by obeying the Word of God or are we a servant of Satan by obeying the flesh and the perverted ways of the world. Are we thinking and talking like the Devil or God? What are we reaping in our lives, death or life? Are we reaping lack or abundance? The answers tell us whose servant we are. Consider the following as we conclude for today.
Luke 4:5-7 (KJV)
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Notice in the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness that the devil tells Jesus that power (authority) was delivered unto him and he gives it to whom he will. He gives it to those who serve him and what serves his purposes of destruction. In effect he is telling Jesus that this is a short cut at getting mankinds authority back, you don’t have to go to the Cross. Jesus didn’t fall for his lie. Jesus went to the Cross and redeemed mankind and got back the authority given man in the beginning (Genesis 1:26) and returned or delegated it once again to men who serve God. The word “power” in the following verse is authority or dominion.
Matthew 28:18 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
So, the answer to when the prince was cast out was when Jesus obtained the victory in Hell and the “prince” was prince no longer. The Lord Jesus who promptly gave the sons of daughters of God authority which was legally theirs all along.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
