It is Tuesday and the day I remind us all to pray for the various governments across the United States. I am also prompted of the Lord for us to pray for our friends to the north in Canada. Today I am highlighting the Province of Saskatchewan. Pictured above is the Legislative building located in the Capital city of Saskatchewan, Regina. Also note the map locating the Province within the nation of Canada. (From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia). Now, back to our text from Ephesians.
Ephesians 1:3-4 (KJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Before I delve into this I will return to our discussion of the word and idea of the Church. The word ‘Church” is first used by Jesus.
Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The word ‘Church’ in English is the Greek word transliterated; Ekklēsia (Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary). Ekklēsia basically means the called out ones. This word and idea has its origin in the ancient government of Greece. The ecclesia or ekklēsia were the principle assembly of Greece. The things they were to consider and carry out were given them of a higher body. Does this sound familiar at all? As the Church, the ekklēsia, we are the called out ones and we receive our instructions from a higher body, The Holy Word, the Holy Spirit, the Godhead. And we are the ones that are responsible for implementing the policies and procedures of this Kingdom of God. This would have been functional in the Greek government at the time that Jesus used the word and there would have been an understanding of how that was to work. Jesus is the Rock (foundation) and we are the called out ones, the anointed (of the Holy Spirit, The Blessing) body in the earth with authority, to implement the ideas of the head (Jesus). Fascinating, don’t you think? Now to our text in Ephesians.
I spoke last week about how we bless or empower the Lord, “God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”. As we submit, kneel, before God then He is empowered to flow through us. He does nothing in the earth independent of a man (or woman). Then I discussed how God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed (empowered us) with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. All physical expressions have their origin in the spiritual realm which is that realm unseen and unmeasurable or detectable by the physical realm. We are seated with and in Jesus at the right hand of Majesty on High (right now in Heaven).
Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
We have every spiritual tool needed to carry out the general orders of our God as well as the daily leadings of the Holy Spirit. When we pray and a person is healed instantly the power to effect that came from the spiritual realm by way of the Holy Spirit causing the physical to align with the spiritual, the will of God. Time was set aside and the natural physical healing properties of the body were accelerated from this supernatural source (our words).
Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (underlilne added)
The ages were framed by the Word of God in the mouth of men and our world, our times, are framed by the Word of God or the lack thereof, in our mouths.
