AMERICA – HOW SHOULD THE CHURCH VOTE?
Monday – October 16, 2017

An interesting and demonic line of thought developed out of the Civil War. In the Founding Era the use of the Bible (Christian religion) in the public square with goverance was common and expected. The myth of the separation of Church and State was no where to be found. Today the idea that the Church and the State should have absolutely nothing to do with each other and must have nothing to do with each other is common thought and stated as if it were a fact, when it is a myth. The reason for the emergence of other lines of thought (other than the devil wants to kill everyone) was that the teachings of the Bible made the Civil War ineviditable and President Lincoln believed the high casualty count (750 thousand by the end) was God’s justice for the shed blood of slaves. The Bible and the Declaration of Independence (based upon the Bible) taught that all men were created equal by their Creator and a nation divided would fall thus the moral foundation for freeing the slaves, and preventing succession of the slave States. These United States were formed as one nation, divided both would fall (Matthew 12).
Two lines of thought emerged in the Civil War era, first was that religious (Christians) people could enter politics but they were to keep those beliefs personal and was to play no role in their political decision making. A recent and good example of this line of thought was expressed by Senator Tim Kaine. He said that he personally was opposed to abortion but did not believe that his beliefs should be forced on other people with different beliefs therefore he supported the Pro Choice agenda. This is like saying I don’t think I should kill you but I will fight for the right of someone else to kill you. In what universe does that make any sense? The other equally wicked line of thought was that religious (Christians) were not to enter politics at all. Just listen to political retoric and you will see that these demonic lines of thought are alive and well today. This may well be at least a part of the foundation of why so many Christians support and vote for wicked candidates for office.
The title of this teaching is: How Should The Church Vote? The simple answer is according to the Bible. Our opinion about what the Bible says is not up for debate if we are smart, the prevailing opinion is Gods, the Bible is a self-proving document. When we vote for a particular candidate we must be mindful that we are saying not only that we support what they believe but the platform of the party with which they are a part. For example, take the upcoming special election for Senator in Alabama to replace Jeff Sessions on the 12th of December. The Republican candidate is Judge Roy Moore who is a straight up Christian strongly supporting life, traditional marriage, the God-given right of self-defense, and nongovernmental healthcare. By the way these Bible ideas are well established in the Republican platform. His Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, on the other hand favors abortion, the LGBT agenda, does support the Second Amendment (albeit softer), and says that government sponsored healthcare is a right advocating a single payer system. Based on what you know about the Word of God which one of these candidates represents a Godly viewpoint? Contemplate the following Scripture.
Romans 1:32 (KJV)
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Leading up to the preceding verse is much discussion about wickedness but at the center of it all are things we would relate to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) community of thoughts, words and actions. Voting for a person who supports this lifestyle links the voter with the lifestyle and it is an abomination to God (Leviticus 18). If it disgusts God it disgusts us.
2 John 1:10-11 (KJV)
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Voting for a person certainly qualifies as bidding the person God speed. Our Scripture tells us that bidding the person with another (evil) doctrine God speed makes us guilty of their evil deeds. If we were ignorant of all this before, you are now not ignorant, and accountable on a higher level. We are all accountable for deeds we do in ignorance however once we have been enlightened we are accountable to God on a much higher level. So, in the election in Alabama coming up on the 12th of December between Judge Roy Moore and Doug Jones, for whom will the Biblically informed Christian vote? Not voting is not an option. God has commanded that we care for and guard the things He has placed in our hands. We have a sacred trust given us by God to put righteous men and women into office.
Genesis 2:15 (KJV)
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
This is not an ancient meaningless script, it is a NOW Word for us all.
He has given us His Word and He has given us America when will we act like His people? Awake, Arise, and Triumph Church of the living God! When the Church triumphs, the people will rejoice and America will once again be that shining light on a hill.
