GOD CREATED ALL THINGS BY JESUS CHRIST
Thursday – December 1, 2016

Greetings from Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The picture above is but a little peek at the fall season in Maine from our Condo. That is leaves on the ground in the foreground, then there is a stone wall which is very common in Maine then you see a small portion of the golf course that abuts the Condo property. God is so very good. Back to Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:7-9 (KJV)
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Oh, what a God we serve! We are not conscripted into servitude to God, no we were wooed by His love and mercy. We are sons and serve Him by choice and with great joy.
Galatians 4:3-7 (KJV)
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Those who were in bondage to the world (the devil); the Gentiles and those under the law (Jews) which they could never keep and whose sins were covered only for a season were redeemed forever by the blood of Jesus and made one body for the glory of God. When Ephesians 3:9 tells us that this mystery of us all being one body in Christ was hid in God we can think of it as being hid in the Word, hid for us not from us, and now the Holy Spirit starting with the Apostles and Prophets of the first century were taught to put together this Truth.
Now let’s take a look at the phrase from Ephesians 3:9; “who created all things by Jesus Christ:” The word ‘by’ here means ‘to be the channel of, or through. What came to mind as I was contemplating this idea was a culvert which brings water from one location to another. The culvert (duct, channel, conduit, and tunnel) is Jesus, on one side of the culvert or channel is God the Father and on the other side is the Holy Spirit. Water is commonly representative of the Word of God (who is Jesus) in Scripture. This construct is useful when speaking and thinking about our triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or before the virgin Mary, Jehovah, the Word, and Spirit of God. Let me expand it a little further, I have found this useful and perhaps you will. Although the word ‘triune’ is not in the Scripture it is commonly accepted that God is triune and we know from Scripture that we also are triune creations. Paul describes us in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 as spirit, soul, and body. Not to confound the matter unnecessarily we know that the spirit and soul are what God originally breathed into Adam in Genesis 2:7 and he became a living soul. Okay with this in mind we can think of God the Father, Jehovah as the soul, Jesus is the body, the mouthpiece, and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of our Triune God. You may be thinking, “well this all very interesting but what does it have to do with God creating all things?” I think we all recognize that in the natural (and spiritual) order of things first there is a thought, then that thought is spoken, and then the thing thought about comes to life or is. God the Father is the idea man, Jesus is the voice of God, and the Holy Spirit is the One who makes it so. I am going to leave with the following Scripture and pick-up here tomorrow.
John 8:28-29 (KJV)
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
Genesis 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
