TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART THIRTY-TWO
GUARDING OUR HEART – PART TWO
Saturday – August 24, 2019, Av 23, 5779

Greetings my precious brother and sisters, saints of the Kingdom, children, sons and daughters of the Father in Christ Jesus. Welcome back to our Saturday series titled “Traditions, Lies, and Truth”. In this series my goal is to illuminate contaminated thinking that keeps us from victory in Christ Jesus. Jesus did not come and deal with the sin question so that we could have poverty with broken down bodies but to give us life as He and the Father know life in Heaven and really as He knew life in the earth. We have no record that Jesus was ever in poverty nor do we have a record that He missed ministry days due to sickness or disease. Since He is our prime example and we are commanded to do everything He did and even greater things, what is the problem? The problem pure and simple is that the gospel we are hearing, and thus the thoughts we have, the words we speak, and actions we take are not of God but traditions of men or doctrines of devils. And, yes, we learned the vast majority of it right in Church. The devil’s main seat of deception is in the Church and the main source of persecution is from the Church. Selah!
Last Saturday I left off speaking about guarding our hearts and the vital importance of us examining everything we hear and everything we think. Certainly, we must be examining, thinking about, every Word coming from our mouths and whether or not it is consistent with righteous thought, the Word. We have the capacity to examine our thoughts every ten seconds and correct error. Of course, as we discussed last week if we have a diet of corrupted word of God then we are comparing for more corruption and soon our whole thought life is a lie, corruption of the Word of God, which will allow the devil to steal, kill, and destroy. Our thought life will be darkness and not light. Will sound right and religious to us but is a deception of the devil. Why, because we swallowed what someone said hook line and sinker with no diligence of our own study. What does the Word say?
2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Brother and sister apart from salvation there may not be a more serious knowledge to have then what I am discussing right now. This corruption (of the Word of God) keeps us from the abundance Jesus came and went to Calvary to abolish all poverty in the life of those who would believe upon Him and upon His Word. As we examine the preceding text, we must not get the idea that ungodliness is only among sinners. It is rampant among Christians in the form of adopting the worlds ways and a corrupted gospel. If it is not of God it is ungodliness. Really, dear ones, this is not hard. Let’s listen again to what Jesus has to say on this matter. As we read it let us remember, He is talking to us, not someone else, not the world, us, the Church.
Matthew 6:21-24 (KJV)
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Whatever we honor (place a value upon) and therefore store in our minds, our thought life, is our treasure. It is what we have faith in, what we rely upon, that in which we have confidence. When what we allow into our minds (heart) is the Truth (pure Word of God) we will become full of light over time and this particular Scripture refers to that as our eye being single. Single in that it accepts only the pure, unadulterated, uncorrupted, Word of God. Don’t forget He is talking to us, Christians, the redeemed. On the other hand, Jesus says that if our eye be evil, which is to say we are letting any old trash in as Truth, we will have an increasing darkness until we are completely deceived. Perhaps on our way to Heaven but in total deception and the devil beating us like a drum. In verse twenty-four Jesus goes on to give us an example of a person saying they love God but, in their hearts, they love (treasure) mammon (money). Jesus says this is an impossible situation, we will love God or we will love money (or something or someone) no matter what our mouths are saying. God wants each and every one of us to have a truck load of money. However, money is not what we depend upon nor is money our source. Money is a tool for the Kingdom of God. The word “love” in verse twenty-four is the Greek word for love transliterated as agape. This is the God kind of love which is unselfish, observes Blood Covenant (all Godly Covenants), and obeys the Word of God without exception. Which is better to be obedient to God or to money? Is it better to treasure (honor, value) our relationship with God or money?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
