Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for the study of the Book of John and read it aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes one way and one way only (Romans 10:17)!
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
The work of Redemption is almost done, the last piece is to apply that Precious Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. That Blood speaks forever (down through eternity, without end) of our redemption. Our redemption is an eternal redemption, there is no expiration date. Notice that Jesus, the Risen Savior, restored fully as God, interacts with Mary Magdalene differently than with the disciples just a few verses later. What is the difference, He has been to Heaven and applied His Blood to the Mercy Seat? He did not breath on Mary Magdalene causing her to be born again, quickening her spirit man. Why? The Blood was not yet on the Mercy Seat of Heaven. More on this as we go forward in our study. Now, let’s turn our attention back to the Book of Hebrews and the Words the Father said in the restoration of Jesus, the Word, fully as God.
Hebrews 1:10-13 (KJV)
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Last week I spent time with verse ten which establishes the Word (Jesus) as the One who spoke the earth and the heavens into this physical existence. This is to a degree the same as what is written in verse two of this same chapter.
Hebrews 1:2 (KJV)
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
This is not just good news for Jesus but wonderful news for us the children of God. Jesus was appointed by the Father to be the heir of all things. What is excluded from “all things”? Would anything spiritual be excluded? What about anything physical, would any physical thing be excluded? Nothing, not one thing spiritual or physical is excluded! We like Jesus are heirs of all in Him for we are adopted sons with the rights of the first born (Jesus) and joint-heirs with Him. It just does not get any better than this dear ones. As we move forward into the eleventh verse, we find that all of these works will perish. Let’s look at a couple of verses that shed some light on this.
2 Peter 3:11-13 (KJV)
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
We, the redeemed, nor the self-condemned for that matter, cease to exist in this process but we can look forward to a new Heaven and a new earth. All residue of Satan, the fallen angels, sin, and the curse will be eradicated forever. They and those who rejected Jesus (the self-condemned) are cast into the Lake of Fire forever.
Revelation 21:1 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
We, the redeemed, have nothing but wonderful and amazing things in our future. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
