Praise the Lord it is time for our Tuesday Word of God. Tuesday is when I remind us all to pray for the many governments of these United States and today I am asking each of us to pray for our northern neighbor, Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia is a province of Canada and I have shown a map showing its location in Canada. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Colossians 3:16 (KJV)
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
The Lord has directed that I revisit this topic concerning letting or allowing “the word of Christ dwell” in each of us in abundance and exercised in all wisdom. We are to once again examine the word ‘Christ’. The Word of God here is telling us to allow the word, the words that are spoken (written) of Christ to dwell in us richly and in all wisdom. We are to seek and maintain this word in abundance and we are to use the Word of God, “word of Christ” at the very highest level. At the same level that God uses the “word of Christ”.
The word Christ in Scripture can be interpreted as Messiah which is Jesus, or as The Anointed One which is also Jesus, The Christ. Also the word “Christ” is interpreted as the Anointing which is The Holy Spirit. If we simply take our verse and in our mind substitute the word ‘Jesus’ we would miss the full scope of what is being said to us. Our text is also talking about the Word that Jesus preached which was repentance and the Kingdom of God.
Mark 1:15 (KJV)
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Repentance is not only being sorry for our former way of thinking, speaking, and doing but taking steps to change our thinking, speaking, and doing. With the crucifixion of Jesus the Kingdom of God had legal access back into the earth by way of the Holy Spirit and was available to whosoever would accept Jesus as Lord. The Kingdom of God is in the Holy Spirit Who is within us and this Kingdom of God, our kingdom, is comprised of righteousness, peace, and joy.
The word of Christ is everything that is said about the Messiah and the accompanying salvation. This tells us who we are and what we possess with salvation, with receiving the Messiah as Lord. The word of Christ is everything said about the Anointed One. The Anointed One, Jesus came and showed us the way, commanding us to do what He did and to do greater things. And, the word of Christ is everything said about the Anointing, the Holy Spirit. The Father conceived of this creation, Jesus spoke it, and the Holy Spirit caused all physical manifestations from the spirit realm. The physical is not composed of nothing, it is composed of the substance of the spirit realm. Just as there are elements in the physical there are elements in the spiritual. This is a huge aggregate of material, virtually the entire Bible. We are to have the word of Christ in us in abundance and to use with all wisdom. Jesus did it we can do it in Him. Remember we have the mind of Christ (Messiah, Anointed One, and the Anointing). The whole shebang is ours now let us start acting like it in Jesus name. We now come to a passage of Scripture that many like to skip around but let’s take a look at it head on and with Gods help take away the Truth He wants us to glean from this passage.
Colossians 3:18-19 (KJV)
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
The Apostle Paul writes on this topic often which indicates to me that this is important to God and therefore must be important to each of us whether we be male or female. As we explore this area of Scripture let us be clear that we are to only submit to Godly authority. There are examples of people not submitting to ungodly authority in Scripture like Daniel, the three Hebrew children, and Moses’ parents. In some cases the people of God stood and were vindicated as the preceding than there were times to flee like Moses from Pharaoh and Joseph, Mary, and Jesus from Herod. More tomorrow.
