VETERANS, MILLINIALS, PILGRIMS, AND CHRISTIANS

Today is an official Holiday in the United States set aside to honor all those who have served in the United States Military in any capacity whether it be in peacetime or war, combat or not. Veterans’ Day (originally Armistice Day) marks the end of World War I which ended at 11 am, on the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. This ministry certainly believes that we are to have the proper respect, honor, and gratitude toward those who have and are serving in the armed forces of the United States. One of the primary purposes of our Federal Government is to provide for the common defense. Let’s take a look at the preamble of our Federal Constitution.
Preamble – We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The United has gone through periods of voluntary participation and compulsory participation in the armed forces. Even in times when military service is voluntary such as now, in one way or another we all have a role to play in the fielding of an effective military. Having said that we also honor those who honor the veterans.
Today, the 11th of November is also the anniversary of another very notable event and that is the signing of The Mayflower Compact in 1620. This “Compact” which is a covenant or contract was written and signed aboard the Mayflower before the 101 or 102 passengers disembarked at Plymouth Rock Massachusetts. The entire Mayflower Compact is worth reading however here is a poignant portion that gives us insight into the purposes of this nation.
“We whose names are underwriten, the loyall subjects of our dread soveraigne Lord King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britaine, Franc, & Ireland king, defender of the faith, &c., having undertaken, for the glorie of God, and advancemente of the Christian faith…”
You might be wondering what all of this has to do with Veterans’ Day aside from sharing a common anniversary day. The things that are contained in the Preamble of our Federal Constitution and in the Mayflower Compact are the things for which our veterans willingly serve in the Armed forces of this Covenant (with God) nation.
With all of this in mind, I recently saw an article by the Washington Past that “millennials” would rather live in a socialist or communist nation than under capitalism. How can that be? Short answer the devil is very deceptive and when you throw God out there is only the deceptions of the devil. That is why many in America are looking on in astonishment at what is being said (with a straight face) and being done as if it made sense and is right. There is an advancing evil spiritual adversary and the Church has retreated into the Church and decried the evil and the others think they are fighting the evil but don’t have a clue due to the tradition of men and the doctrine of devils. There was a recent howling at the sky to commemorate Hillary Clinton’s loss of the Presidential election and we may laugh or grin and say how foolish but the Church is doing similar ineffective things to turn back the evil tide.
Let’s consider the persons aboard the Mayflower in 1620. When they came ashore the “civill body politick” established was socialism.
Socialism is defined as a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. (online dictionary)
As the “Pilgrims” learned the hard way this system destroys all incentive. Half of the pilgrims died in the first winter and high mortality followed until in 1623 William Bradford declared that land could be privately owned and managed. By the way land ownership is a God thing and so is just Capitalism (read your Bible). The Pilgrims prospered and this gave rise to the first (or among the first) Thanksgivings in the fall of 1623. It also laid the foundation for the most prosperous nation ever to exist on the earth. America has experimented with Socialism which is one step away from Communism and saw the disastrous results as have been witnessed for millennia all over the world. Currently 44% of millennials favor socialism. Look at what is going on in Venezuela today. It is estimated that over 100 million people have been killed by socialism, communists, or fascist in the last 100 years alone. How have our children become so ignorant, so deceived?
There is also an example of socialism in the Bible which you may well have heard preached as a Christian objective. Examine the following Scripture.
Acts 2:42-46 (KJV)
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
They continued in the apostles’ doctrine, what about the doctrine of Scripture? Don’t confuse the great growth of the Church (relative to the population) and the signs and wonders with God’s approval of the economic system they choose to embrace. Notice they “had all things in common”. Where is that Truth or doctrine found in Scripture? Nowhere!! So, some 20 years later what was the outcome of this devilish endeavor? Poverty, the same as the Pilgrims!
Romans 15:25-26 (KJV)
25 But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
