FAITH AND SEEING GOD
Monday – October 1, 2018, Tishrei 22, 5779

Greetings and welcome back to this wonderful and faith building (if we choose) study from the Bible Book of John. This week the featured pictures will be from the Texas ranch and the buffalo Adam and Eve. Now, back to our study. Faith comes by hearing and real spiritual hearing comes by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The verse just before this says:
Romans 10:16 (KJV)
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
So, we should quickly see that just hearing in the natural is not enough but we must by our own choice, study, and be diligent to get the Word of God into our Spirit and let it change our mind. We do that by believing the Word we have heard and doubt not, we conclude that is the way it is and there is no other. We consolidate and loose the Word of God in our lives and the lives of others by faith, in love, led of Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 4:2-3 (KJV)
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Two groups of people in the preceding passage, both heard the same gospel, the same Words of God. One group believed, mixed the Word of God with faith, and entered into rest or the fulness of the provision of God. The other group heard the same gospel, sat in Church hearing the same sermons, reading the same devotional, but did not mix the Words of God with faith and therefore did not enter into rest or the provision of God. How sad, I know which group I want to be in, what about you? Now, let’s get back to the Book of John and read our primary text aloud getting this Word in our eyes, our mouth, and in our ears. Let us settle in our heart right now that we will believe this Word, take (receive) it as our own, we will allow it to change our thoughts, our words, and our corresponding actions and enter the rest of God.
John 1:15-19 (KJV)
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
Let’s focus on verse eighteen and look at it in a different Bible Translation to perhaps add some clarity.
John 1:18 (AMP)
18 No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].
As we think about this statement that “no man has ever seen God at any time” we have to ask ourselves if there is a context here or do we just receive it as Truth. I believe we receive it as Truth. One of the limitations of the Greek language as it pertains to the name God verses the Hebrew and names of God we are stuck with one (Theos) which is to say we cannot differentiate between the three persons of the Trinity unless specifically named. However, as we think about this and the various references to seeing God in Scripture it seems to me we are talking about the one we now call Father and all of the sighting of God are manifestations of Jesus or Holy Spirit. Remember the Father is the mind of the Trinity, Jesus is the mouthpiece and manifestation of God, and Holy Spirit is the Power of God and a manifestation of the goodness and presence of God. All of the Holy Book (Bible) is of course a description of God but we find that Jesus came to be a duplicate in like kind of the Father to the people.
John 14:9 (KJV)
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
