TEN TIMES BETTER AND PRAYER
Thursday – December 27, 2018, Tevet 19, 5779

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in the Lord and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study from the Book of John. As a reminder, please don’t forget to hit the “like” and “share” buttons if you are receiving this on Facebook. Also, it is not too late to contribute to this ministry if you are looking for good ground to sow into and see a very real harvest. Now, let’s take a look at our primary text for today and read it aloud.
John 6:16-21 (KJV)
16 And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
As you may recall we have just finished a very fascinating study of Jesus feeding the five thousand and how the people wanted to make Him King by force if necessary. I talked about how we also need to have supernatural events in our lives, commonly, that duplicate or rival those of Jesus. It should also be very common that people want us to run things because they recognize the power of God, the Anointing, in our lives. We like Daniel should be ten times better than the unsaved around us and actually running the country in effect like Daniel in Assyria or like Joseph in Egypt. These were men with an inferior Covenant to our Covenant and yet we cower in our homes and Churches.
The account of this episode of Jesus walking on water is distinct from the account which includes Peter also walking on the water, at least for a moment. From the John account it is not clear why the disciples left and Jesus stayed on the mountain that day. Matthew’s account adds some clarity which we probably could guess but let’s get it from a firsthand observer.
Matthew 14:22-25 (KJV)
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
So, we see from the Matthew account that Jesus stayed behind to pray after He had dismissed the multitude. As an aside of sorts I cannot stress enough how important it is to spend a significant amount of dedicated time with God everyday and practice talking with Him all day long from time to time. Tell Him how good He is to you and thank Him for that goodness. Just say; “Lord you are so good to me”. I don’t care how awful your day may be. The circumstances stirred up by our own thoughts and mouths due to a lack of diligent study and valuing of the Word does not make God not good. Be diligent in the Word and in your personal time with the Lord. Little children there is nothing more important than the Word of God and your time with the speaker of that Word. Let me say it again, nothing is more important! The quality of our life hangs on this one (two things) and the fruit of our life hangs on this relationship. By being diligent in the Word I am not talking about listening to a tape, or reading a chapter, all of which are good, I am talking about a serious diligent analysis and meditation of a portion of Scripture.
Back to our primary text, Jesus had told the disciples to go to the other side of the sea, so we know they were in the will of God for Jesus only said what the Father said. Just because we are in a storm does not mean we are in the wrong place. Remember who has dominion in the earth, it is you and me brother and sister and not the demonic forces. In faith, by love, led of Holy Spirit, with only one possible outcome (hope) which is achieving the assigned goal we will be victorious 100% of the time if we faint not and refuse to waver. Have you ever wondered how the disciples thought that Jesus was getting to the other side? It is not mentioned in any of the text. I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
