HIS HOUR WAS NOT YET COME
Wednesday – February 27, 2019, Adar A 22, 5779

Greetings dear friends and partners of this ministry and of course all who are new to this ministry are greeted and welcome as well to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. As you can see today’s featured picture is more of the ranch with me feeding the donkeys we had at the time. The donkeys were cute and a lot of fun but absolutely useless. We were told that the donkeys would protect the cattle from dogs and cayotes, I remain skeptical about that to this day. Now, let’s get on to our Bible Study of the Book of John first reading our primary text aloud.
John 7:30-34 (KJV)
30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
As we have read this text, I think we all might be able to agree that Jesus would never be considered for diplomatic service. Yet, that was exactly the mission He was on, to reconcile the world to the Father. We have the very same mission with of course the critical difference that He was the only one who could pay the price of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Christ Jesus is referred to as the Apostle and High Priest of our profession.
Hebrews 3:1 (KJV)
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Part of the definition of an Apostle is being an ambassador. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary an Apostle is a delegate; specially an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ [“apostle”] (with miraculous powers): – apostle, messenger, he that is sent. Let’s go just a little further and look at the root word as well, which means to be set apart, i.e. (by implication) to send out (properly on a mission) literal or figurative: – put in, send (away, forth, out), set [at liberty]. As we digest all of that perhaps we could come down to the core meaning as a special sent out ambassador. Certainly, Jesus was sent out, the Church is sent out, out of Heaven and out into the earth. We are all ambassadors for Christ Jesus but not all walk in the Office of Apostle although all are apostles on a certain level.
Okay, David get back on track with the text. Notice very carefully that the authorities (Temple Authorities) sent people to take Jesus but they did not touch Him because it was not yet time for the Cross. Now, did this come about because the officers sent to get Him realized it was not yet His time and respected that? Of course not! They want to kill the man, He is screwing up their gig big time. So, what happened? Jesus was untouchable, perhaps He just walked away, but for whatever reason they were not able to touch Him and I suspect it was confounding to them as well and likely infuriating. Why would it be any different for us today? Why do we think, profess, and act out that we are hapless bystanders for the will of the world and victims of whatever they want to do? Stinking thinking! If you can stand it and have hair left, I will pick up right here tomorrow, Lord willing.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
