THE CHRIST – THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD
Friday – July 19, 2019, Tamuz 16, 5779

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this insightful and powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God, the only Living God, is so good to us, giving us explicit insights into the Kingdom of God of which we are citizens on assignment in the earth. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and share these teaching with your friends with the “share” button or even “tag” your friends making it more certain they will see this and perhaps value it enough to read. There is nothing more powerful or valuable than the Word of God, period. The featured pictures this week have been of various scenes here in Maine. Today is from a recent trip to Boothbay and features yours truly and his newly minted bride. Now, let’s delve into our Bible Study by first reading our primary Bible text.
John 11:25-29 (KJV)
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
Isn’t the Word of God just wonderful, it is our life, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, in the earth or anywhere else more valuable or powerful than the Word of God in our heart and in our mouth. The latter part of verse twenty-five of our primary text is not talking about Lazarus rising from the physical dead to be physically alive. Lazarus is physically dead and in moments Jesus will speak and the Father will raise him from the dead. Our text is talking about the deadness of Lazarus’ soul, spirit man, and how he will spiritually live because of Christ Jesus and three days just ahead.
To live, to be born again, to be born from death to life involves more than a ticket to Heaven, it brings all the reality of life as God knows life as a present reality. This life as God knows life does not just drop on us, it is made a physical reality by faith. We must walk with Him, we must be diligent, we must think like Him, talk like Him, and act like Him. Let me make a point which may be obvious but I want to be clear. Our actions, the path we walk and the words we speak are a direct outcome of the thoughts we have that we truly believe. Our thought life that we have faith in produces our world. Whatever our current circumstance might be, we created. A very sobering thought but on the other hand a thought filled with extravagant overflowing hope. We now come to verse twenty-six.
John 11:26 (KJV)
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Jesus is not saying we will not exit this physical body one day but He is saying we will not die spiritually nor experience eternal death (the second death). Jesus asked Martha that day if she believed this and He is asking you and me right now. Our answer, not our religious answer, not our politically correct answer, but the answer of our soul, our mind, the deepest recesses of what we believe shapes our present and future. Martha’s answer along with what she had already declared were the determinates in the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Then comes a response from Martha ringing down through the ages and should be ringing from our lips as it did from hers and in another place it rang from the lips of the Apostle Peter.
John 11:27 (KJV)
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
Compare this to the response that Peter gave to our Lord.
Matthew 16:15-17 (KJV)
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Flesh and blood did not reveal the full and true identity of Christ that day to Martha nor to Peter, the revelation came from the Father through the Holy Spirit. This revelation came to us the same way and we surrendered to Him and declared Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
