OH NO, MORE LOVE AND COMMANDMENTS
Wednesday – November 20, 2019, Cheshvan 22, 5780

Greeting my precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this in depth, illuminating, and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook, please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage Donna and me and more importantly expand the reach of this gospel. The pictures today, Wednesday, and Thursday are of the buffalo (Adam and Eve) that I owned in Texas. You probably noticed the donkey getting their nose in to get some of the food but the ears are back telling us she is ready to run. Precious ones please understand that there are no more important Words, nor more important knowledge, not even close, than the Words of God, our knowledge (intimate) of God, of His Word. Knowing His Word, receiving His Word, having an unwavering faith in His Word, using His Word in Love and being led of the Holy Spirit should be the most fervent cry of our heart. If it is not, we might ask ourselves what knowledge, whose words do we value, what words do we have absolute faith in, where is our love, and who is leading us? Now let us turn to our primary Bible text and read it aloud together.
John 14:15-21 (KJV)
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
The word “if” in the fifteenth verse tells is that it is our choice to choose love or not and the choice is made when we choose to obey the commandments. What have you chosen, what have I chosen? He, Jesus, is talking about all of the commandments, all 613 of them, and we are empowered to do them all by the Holy Spirit. What will we choose? Consider the following passage.
Romans 6:13-16 (KJV)
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Folks under the Old Covenant did not have the Holy Spirit (Grace) to guide and empower them but now under the New Covenant we have Him for everything and all things in our lives including exercising dominion over sin. Whose servant am I, whose are you? The exercise of dominion over sin does not just fall on us (come automatically), we must recognize and choose. Our flesh will screech at the top of its lungs some days to abandon one or more commandments but our spirit is superior and the Word of God will bring the peace we need in those times. Among many Scriptures I commonly use the following one in times of temptation, stress.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Sometimes I just have to screech back against the flesh for it is my flesh and mine to control; “I am in perfect peace for I choose to stay (keep) my mind on the Lord, on His Word, and I trust you Lord above all else!” When the flood of evil thoughts and feelings come refuse to think on them, talk about them, but command them in Jesus name to go and think on purpose about the solution, the Word solution, the Godly alternative (frequently acting, confessing, and thinking Godly love). Is this easy? Absolutely not, but neither are the outcomes of evil and not taking control of our flesh. I have not forgotten about 1st John, Lord willing, I will get back to it and our verse tomorrow. God is so good!
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
