CLEAN

Greetings to all our precious friends and partners, sons and daughters of the Most High God. Welcome back to this illuminating and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. Of course, it is only illuminating and empowering if we choose to hear, see, and implement these Anointed Words into our thoughts, words, and ways. Our God is so good and He is nothing but good! Now let’s prepare to dive into our lesson by first reading aloud our primary Bible text.
John 15:3-6 (KJV)
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Today let’s pick up with the third verse from our primary Bible text above. I will talk about the word “clean” but first let’s take a look at this verse in two other translations of the Bible.
John 15:3 (AMP)
3 You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you].
John 15:3 (TLB)
3 He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you.
I don’t know about you but these other two translations added some clarity to my thinking about what Jesus was saying to them and is saying to us. In all things we see the centrality of the Word. The Word of God is a cleansing agent above all cleansing agents. There is absolutely nothing more important and there is no source of life apart from the Word of God. I think it is useful in our thinking to not separate the Word of God (written and spoken) from Jesus. Jesus is the Word of God.
John 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The pure Anointed Word of God written, spoken, or in the person of Christ Jesus and all the attendant power of God are inseparable. No writing or speech which is said to be the Word of God is Anointed if it is impure (corrupted with tradition or the lies of the devils). Now, I’m going to get back to this word “clean” in the third verse of our primary Bible text. According to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament this word “clean” means to be pure, clear, in a natural sense unsoiled, or unalloyed. The Greek word translated as clean is katharós. I think you can readily see that we get our English word cathartic from this. Among the words that give us clarity to the English word cathartic is purifying, cleansing, liberating, releasing, therapeutic, purgative, beneficial, healing, energizing, and invigorating. Wow! I think, at least I hope we all can see how all of this fits together and tells us a whole lot about the benefits of the Word of God. The Word of God received, believed, and incorporated into our thoughts, speech, and ways brings us to a place in Him (in the Kingdom of God) that far transcends all worldly thoughts, speech, and ways. On the other hand, any Word of God that is not incorporated into our thoughts, words, and ways is not believed and is simply information like any other information upon which we do not base our life. Jesus is telling them in verse three that the Word of God He has been sowing into their lives has pruned them, taken away the dead areas, and provided for further and enhanced fruit bearing. Are we on purpose allowing the Word to do the same for us?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
