JUST A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ASKING

Greeting dear and precious friends and welcome back to this hard-hitting Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a few moments and share these teachings starting right now to expand your witness and the reach of this Ministry. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is provided by a good friend of this Ministry, Joe Getchell Jr. God is so good and He is nothing but good. He is not the cause of any part of the curse. The curse is due to sin. Jesus redeemed us from the curse. However, if we sin God has not choice but to render a judgment (justice), a consequence, of known sin and to sins of ignorance. When we are out of the will of God, things just plain don’t work right, pure and simple. Our authority, the Blessing, and the Grace of God just are not working for us. If we are knowingly out of the will of God the consequences can be fatal. I know this talk about sin and the consequences is not comfortable but it is real and the reason we are not walking in the fullness of God’s provision. Our approach to sin has forgotten the awful price paid for our sin. We use phrases like “well you know you need to do better” or “we all sin” or perhaps “we all miss the mark sometimes just keep plugging away”. Really! Is this right? What about Godly sorrow and repentance?
2 Corinthians 7:10 (AMP)
10 For godly grief and the pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil, and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly [breeding and ending in death].
When we violate the light in which we walk it is sin and demands full repentance and when we violate Scripture in ignorance, we need education in the Truth to escape the snare of the devil.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 (KJV)
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Dear ones, sin is very serious. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 16:23-28 (KJV)
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
By way of reminding and bringing to remembrance, asking is placing a demand on the Blood Covenant into which we came at salvation. At its root ‘ask’ means to speak, to speak our desire, or to seek (speak what we seek). This is not in an asking (like for permission) or begging fashion but in a command or decree as demonstrated by our Master, the Prophets before Him, those that followed, and any of us who want to make a difference in the Kingdom of God. Aren’t you tired of unanswered prayers? Again, review the Scriptures I gave us yesterday to meditate for further light on this subject.
Job 22:28 (KJV)
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
How does one exercise authority? By issuing an order, a decree, a command (in the name of Jesus). Who has authority in the earth (Genesis 1:26)? We do! Does God change?
Isaiah 45:11 (KJV)
11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
Yes, God expects us to command Him in faith, in love, led of His Holy Spirit.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Asking, saying, praying, decreeing, and commanding are all the same thing in Scripture. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, God is good and nothing but good.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
