DO YOU LOVE ME?
Monday – November 18, 2019, Cheshvan 20, 5780

Greeting my precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this in depth, illuminating, and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook, please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage Donna and me and more importantly expand the reach of this gospel. The picture today features Donna and the fall plantings in the elevated bed. Precious ones please understand that there are no more important Words, nor more important knowledge, not even close, than the Words of God, our knowledge (intimate) of God, of His Word. Knowing His Word, receiving His Word, having an unwavering faith in His Word, using His Word in Love and being led of the Holy Spirit should be the most fervent cry of our heart. If it is not, we might ask ourselves what knowledge, whose words do we value, what words do we have absolute faith in, where is our love, and who is leading us? Now let us turn to our primary Bible text and read it aloud together.
John 14:15-21 (KJV)
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Every Word from the mouth of God is filled with Power and is to be the sustaining bread of our lives. This spiritual bread far supersedes the natural bread and will in fact determine the quality and quantity of our natural lives and our station in the Kingdom not just now but for eternity. Let’s see this with our own eyes in Scripture.
Deuteronomy 8:3 (KJV)
3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Jesus quotes this in part when the tempter came in the wilderness, do you suppose this can serve as an example for us?
Matthew 4:3-4 (KJV)
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
By the way, the whole eighth chapter of Deuteronomy is well worth diligent study and then fully implementing for those interested in a successful Christian walk. Forget all the religious trash and tradition you have heard, get on the True milk and meat of the Word and be the son God needs in the earth. Yes, yes, God needs us just as we need Him. God does not have authority in the earth, we do. Authority (dominion) was given to man in the beginning, they surrendered it in part to the devil but Jesus got it back in spades. We have the authority and God has the Power. The Power whether it be by the Holy Spirit or holy angels is only released by His Words in our mouths. Have you been wondering why there is not much going on in your life, perhaps you just read at least a part of the answer?
As we pick up our text in John 14:15 we hear Jesus telling us flat out that loving Him and keeping the commandments have a one to one relationship. This is not an either-or relationship. When we do not keep His commandments, we are demonstrating to Him and all others that we do not love Him. One can scream all day Sunday in Church how much they love Him but it is all lies if we are not doing the Word, keeping His commandments. Not keeping the commandments means we hate Him, despise the Word, and have not put Him in the highest place (far above other people and far above other words) in our life. The word translated love in our verse is agapaō according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. This is the very highest level of love, it is the same love that God has towards us, it is the love sown into our hearts, and it is the love we can express when we are born again (Galatians 5:22-23). Many Greek words are translated as “love” in English but this love, Godly love, is supreme above all and in one way or another regulates all the others. This agape (agapaō) love is Blood Covenant love, it is selfless, and is always obedient to the Scripture. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
