EVEN MORE THOUGHTS AND PEACE
Wednesday – January 29, 2020, Sh’vat 3, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners, here we are near the end of another month. Have we used our time and other resources wisely? Also welcome back to our Monday through Thursday Bible Study of the Book of John. What an amazing study and one if received, believed, and implemented will change us to be more and more like Jesus. We cannot even think about being satisfied until we are an expression of the Master in the earth. When we can say like Jesus that when people see us, they have seen the Father we are approaching the perfect will of God. Scripture must be continually transforming our mind and therefore our thoughts, words, and actions (obedience to the Word of God). As we have been studying, supernatural manifestations will be common place in our lives for the glory of God (John 14:21) when we love (agape) the Lord doing His commandments. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage us and to further the gospel (it is your responsibility also). The featured picture today is a winter scene of a beautiful stream in Maine. This picture is presented courtesy of “Little Moments Photography”. You can find her page on Facebook. Now let’s get to our study for today by first reading our primary Bible text aloud.
John 14:27-31 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
I trust that as each of us as we study and meditate on this peace that Jesus made possible by His coming, His Crucifixion, and Resurrection are coming to understand we are talking way more than a feeling. Feelings can be very deceptive and lead us into places we should never go. We must know the Word of God; we are commanded to know the Word of God and to do it. There is no exception clause. A failure to know the Word of God guarantees a life in which the devils have free reign. In case you forgot he is the one that comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus is the One that comes only to give us an abundant life (physical and spiritual) until it overflows. Is this really a hard choice?
The primary person responsible for spiritual warfare and the person that determines the outcomes is you and me dear ones not God. He will however, enforce the words of our mouth and all that we do in obedience to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Who is responsible to study and show ourselves approved so we can rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Tim 2:15)? Who is responsible for us being sober and vigilant so as to resist the devil (1 Pe 5:8)? Who is responsible to renew our minds displacing the ways of the world, the devil (Romans 12:2)? Who is responsible to watch and pray so that we enter not into temptation (Matthew 26:41)? We are dear ones! Now, let’s turn our attention to the following passage and resolve to do it.
Philippians 4:6-9 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
To “be careful for nothing” is the same as saying don’t worry and do not fear. Notice the centrality of thanksgiving in the sixth verse! Thanksgiving needs to be on our lips 24/7. Notice when we free ourselves of worry which is fear coupled with thanksgiving we enter into the peace of God. We do this, it is work, but done has great reward. Do not be deceived, this is a day in and day out process. Now what is the peace of God. It is the knowledge and an unwavering faith in the knowledge that we are joined with God (Amos 3:3), we are one with God in Christ Jesus, we have entered His rest, we have tranquility (no fear) in all circumstances, and we have His prosperity. Next the Apostle Paul tells us what to think upon. Will we choose to walk in the peace of God or fret? Whichever we choose Jesus will see to it our choice is honored.
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
