AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Wednesday – October 14, 2020, Tishrei 26, 5781
FOR THEIR SAKES
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth. This evening at 6 pm will be our second Wednesday evening Bible Study on Zoom. Prayerfully consider joining us, last week was wonderful. Contact me for the meeting id and password. God is so good to give us His Truth, the only Truth, there is no other Truth. I am writing this in mid-September and Donna is in the process of decorating our home for the fall. The featured picture today is of Donnas’ decorations by our side door (really our main door). By this time, we had hoped to have visited wonderful friends in Tennessee by now and even be headed to Texas. Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit has not given us the go ahead for any of that travel. It is not that we are afraid of COVID-19 but we are listening intently to the Holy Spirit. Because we are the standard for others to emulate we will obey the authorities who are protecting our health, we will honor (value) others, wear our mask and social distance to avoid being an offense, and love our fellow man. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study and read the primary Bible text aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:17-21 (KJV)
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
As we look at verse nineteen it seems that we can rejoice over what Jesus did but we must also practice the same in our own lives. Jesus said I keep myself pure, clean (from the world) for their sake, those there that day and all who followed (you and me dear ones). One thing that I hope is self-evident is that a clean vessel with no fruit is not a good witness, an attractive witness. However, one who is sanctified, holy, and a demonstration of the Truth speaks loudly, attractively. These individuals will not have a Christian brand of poverty, sickness, and toil but have prosperity, health, and a stress-free lifestyle. When people see the works of Jesus and the greater works bringing relief to people, they will want it. After all it is no harder to live a holy life than an unholy life. The problem is in the transition from one to the other i.e. unholy to holy. We have to untrain ourselves, renew our minds.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Unfortunately, what happens all too often is that we retain some of the old man and live a life of mixture which is an unholy life and sets us up for the deceptions of the devil. This opens the door to the curse which is stealing, killing, and destroying by the evil ones. It is so sad that we see Christians everywhere struggling with the curse and we have been redeemed from the curse.
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
There are many places one could go to read in Scripture but most familiar to many of us is Deuteronomy twenty-eight. Notice the path of blessing and the path of cursing. Notice that the blessing is all upside and the curse is all downside. Why do we repeatedly choose the path of the curse? Why will we not take the time and exercise the discipline necessary to transition our thinking to that of the blessing which comes by way of a holy, sanctified life. Knowing and doing the Word of God, the Truth, is the way of the blessing and a wonderful life. Ignorance and/or willful disobedience is the way of the curse and a difficult, if not disastrous life. When we show others that the sanctified life is a wonderful victorious life, they will choose that life as well. There is only one Truth and that is the Word of God, anything contrary is a lie.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
