NEVER SEE DEATH
Tuesday – April 16, 2019, Nisan 11, 5779

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of this ministry bringing the Truth to many more persons. We all desperately need the Truth. God is so good and gave us the Policy and Procedure Manuel for the Kingdom of God, we call it the Holy Bible. If we follow it, we have nothing but victory. That is not to say we won’t be faced with adverse situations, that is a given, but it is also a given that we the tools to win every battle. The biggest battle of all concerns the choice of Heaven or Hell. When the devil loses that one his next objective is to deceive us such that we are not a victorious Christian advancing the Kingdom of God. If he can convince us to stay poor and sick, he is delighted. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible text in the Book of John and read it aloud.
John 8:51-54 (KJV)
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Yesterday I left off with verse fifty-one and we were about to delve into the phrase “he shall never see death”. As you have seen from the text the Jews scoffed at this as might many outside or inside the Church today. So, what is Jesus saying? The Jews that day interpreted this saying to mean they would never see physical death. Is Jesus talking about natural or spiritual things? As I have mentioned several times most commonly Jesus is having a spiritual conversation and those listening are having a carnal or natural conversation. The word ‘see’ in our text means not only to observe a thing, but neither will they experience it, in this case death. However, there does seem to be some implication that we who keep His sayings may see it from afar. So, there is no question, those who keep His sayings are the saved, the redeemed, sinners do not keep the sayings of the Lord. In reality neither do many saints but they have been saved.
Since the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden all peoples are conceived with a dead spirit. There are two major components of our spirit man, the soul and the spirit. More recent scientific research may suggest that the soul is in the quantum realm but I will leave that for another time. The soul has three major components and these are the mind, will, and emotions. Our mind is a tablet upon which we can write good and we can write bad. What is written on that tablet will determine how we exercise our will, and how we exercise our emotions. What we do in our soul or mind determines the health of our spirit man and our physical man. Once we name Jesus as Lord the Holy Spirits immediately gives life to our dead spirit man. This exercise of our will, to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior makes all the difference for eternity. Once quickened, alive to God, a living being like God, not a spiritually dead being like Satan, God (Holy Spirit) is able to speak to our spirit man and give us direction. Dead beings (unsaved) are dead because they have no connection to God. At salvation our spirit and the Holy Spirit are in very close contact, no separation. How clearly, we hear the Holy Spirit who is a co-equal person of god depends upon the health of our spirit man. The health of our spirit man is directly proportional to how much and how diligently we are keeping the Words of God. This is a conscious decision made in the mind modulated by emotions and implemented by the will. Remember, the fruits of the spirit are in the spirit man and so their prominence in our lives is directly proportional to the Word of Jesus (Word of God) we are keeping.
You may have thought I had forgotten what I was talking about and had just gone off into left field or down a rabbit hole but I have not and we are now back to never seeing or tasting death. Okay, perhaps a little rabbit hole. First, the Christian. All persons are born spiritually dead (spirit man) and upon declaring Jesus as Lord and Savior are made spiritually alive. The strength of our spiritual walk is our choice. Our strength spiritually is directly proportional to the Word of God we allow into our mind consciously displacing the words of devils and the traditions of men. Having knowledge is not enough however we must have faith in those words, have love (right motivations), and exercise the Words of God as led of the Holy Spirit. These who are spiritually alive will never see spiritual death, however may or see physical death. The person who never accepts Jesus as Lord not only experiences physical death but also sees or tastes spiritual death (second death). They did not see or taste the first spiritual death for that was how they were conceived and born. Jesus is speaking of the second death, which is spiritual which the sinner does see, taste, unfortunately for eternity. It is by their choice, Scripture tells us that none will have an excuse at the final judgment.
Revelation 21:6-8 (KJV)
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
