THE GREATER THINGS – PART FOURTEEN
Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible. Wow, the year is nearly spent, have we been good stewards of our time? Have we been about Kingdom of God business as our focus or our business?
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Bold added)
Thanksgiving is past and Christmas and the New Year looms immediately ahead. Don’t forget to join us Wednesday evenings at 6 pm eastern time for our Bible Study. The COVID-19 Pandemic remains with us and is and will continue to spike into the winter. I encourage all Christians to follow the law, wear your masks don’t be a “mask slacker” (yes, yes, yes, they work!), keep gatherings according to the current mandates, and practice social distancing. We have an obligation as citizens to follow the laws of the land and God. Disobeying the law of the land is disobedience to God which has far more important and far reaching consequences. You may be tired of hearing about this from me but be assured if you are exceeding attendance level, not wearing the mask, and not social distancing you are in direct rebellion against God, and hearing from me is the least of your troubles. As I witness this rebellion and absolutely astonishing levels of ignorance in the Church it is disheartening. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study of “The Greater Things”.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This verse is addressed to believers. Are you and me believers? Why then are we not doing what He commanded us to do? Are we walking in ignorance due to Church leadership, our own slackness to study, or are we unbelievers with regard to this command? Perhaps you have been taught a passive, on your part, gospel. This gospel attributes all authority, power, responsibility, and control over everything to God. Where are those Scriptures? The John 14:12 verse above alone disputes this view. God has delegated all authority, and the flow of His Power to backup that authority to us when we walk in faith, in love, and led of the Holy Spirit. In other words, when we act like Jesus we will be like Jesus, do the things He did and move into the greater things (works). Now, let’s turn our attention back to Isaiah sixty-one.
Isaiah 61:1-4 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
This whole chapter is for the Church as we operate in our God delegated authority and the Power to back up the authority. Another word for authority is the exercise of dominion or jurisdiction. We have jurisdiction where ever we are. The mountains our demonic enemies bring into our path we are to speak to and they will become a plain.
Isaiah 40:4-5 (KJV)
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Zechariah 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Is any of this for us, our responsibility or just wonderful Bible accounts for an ancient people for us to shout about? Are we using our authority and Power to bring the mountains low, crooked places straight, and rough places smooth to show the goodness of God? Have we abandoned our efforts in the flesh, our own strength, to allow the Holy Spirit room to make the mountains in our lives a plain? Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
