ARMOR OF GOD – PART THIRTY-ONE
HUSBANDS AND WIVES
Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful study of “Gifts” currently focused on the “Armor of God”. I also, want to take a moment to thank each of you who share these teachings. You are a blessing not just to this Ministry but to those who receive the share, whether they realize it at the time or not. They have never received such good news.
Before I delve into our main topic, I will share some things with you that the Lord shared with me this morning in a time of fellowship with Him. The Lord pointed out and some readers have pointed out that they don’t like it when I put a spotlight on certain activities of the Church whether it be local or corporate. That in part seems to be based on the false assumption that everyone’s opinion or beliefs are equally valid. There is no such thing as a private interpretation of Scripture or separate but equal Truths. There is but one Truth and that is the Word of God as written. If there were not problems (lack of the Truth received, believed, and confessed) in our individual lives and that of our Church rich and famous Christians would be common place. Not only would it be common place but an expected outcome shortly following salvation. Last Friday I presented Scripture to illustrate this in the lives of Abram/Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3) and Isaac (Genesis 26:12-14). Are the Philistines (unsaved, no Covenant persons) envying us (Genesis 26:14)?
Is God a respecter of persons? Some may counter (argue) that they are stacking up spiritual treasure and don’t need this earthly stuff. Really? Jesus said we would know them by their fruits, both spiritual and physical. Physical would include financial prosperity and good health. Concerning financial prosperity, our ministry, our capacity to expand the Kingdom is in our excess. Excess is not a bad thing; it is a God thing. God is limited in what He can do by our wealth and health. Spiritual would include doing the works Jesus did and the greater works we are commanded to do. Now, let’s judge ourselves. The Lord pointed out that when we are in His perfect will we can walk in perfect health. Healing is the children’s bread, are we children of God? The kind of health and beyond that we see in Moses at one hundred twenty years of age. Now, don’t give me the Old Testament song and dance that these things don’t apply to us. Did Moses have a greater or lesser Covenant than we have? Lesser dear ones! Why isn’t this level of health common among us? Our thoughts, words, and actions are contrary to the Word of God giving the curse, and the devil a playground. Listen to these Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 10:10-11 (KJV)
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (Bold added)
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
I will continue and expand this discussion next Friday. Dear ones we have to do some really serious catchup with where we are to be, how we are to function in the Kingdom of God in this earth.
Perhaps our lack of abundant observable fruit is related to the topic for today’s study.
Now, let’s turn our attention to the building of a foundation for a discussion of the Armor of God. For the last few Fridays, I have had the audacity to discuss the topic of submission. Submitting, submission has become a hated idea and is infrequently practiced. Submission (obedience, compliance, capitulation, surrender, deference) which is the opposite of rebellion or resistance is an essential part of foundation for effective use of the Armor of God. Let’s go ahead and read our text out loud.
Ephesians 5:21-24 (KJV)
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Submission is directly related to our faith in God (His Word) but even more directly to love (agape) of God and our neighbor. Remember, agape love is the God level of love and is absolute obedience to Scripture, a selfless life, and observance of the Blood Covenant. Just so there is no misunderstanding, our submission to another person is not absolute. When we submit it cannot be in violation of Gods’ laws (commands). A very abused area related to Godly, Biblical submission relates to husbands and wives. I will get to verse twenty-two next Friday. The Lord will grant that these teachings bring clarity.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
