THOUGHTS AND PEACE
Monday – January 27, 2020, Sh’vat 1, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners, here we are near the end of another month. Have we used our time and other resources wisely? Also welcome back to our Monday through Thursday Bible Study of the Book of John. What an amazing study and one if received, believed, and implemented will change us to be more and more like Jesus. We cannot even think about being satisfied until we are an expression of the Master in the earth. When we can say like Jesus that when people see us, they have seen the Father we are approaching the perfect will of God. Scripture must be continually transforming our mind and therefore our thoughts, words, and actions (obedience to the Word of God). As we have been studying, in this way supernatural manifestations will be common place in our lives for the glory of God. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage us and to further the gospel (it is your responsibility also). The featured picture today is a typical winter scene in Maine, looks cold (and it is), and the sun is low on the horizon. This picture is presented courtesy of “Little Moments Photography”. You can find her page on Facebook. Now let’s get to our study for today by first reading our primary Bible text aloud.
John 14:27-31 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
As you will recall we are in the final hours (literally) of Jesus’ earthly ministry and He is filling the disciples and us with information that is vital. I have been talking about peace, the peace that Jesus left us, gave to us, the same peace that He enjoyed. I pointed out that this peace is one of the fruit of the spirit, our spirit, is at baby maturity at salvation and must be developed and grow more mature, stronger over time. I pointed out that the peace of God which is a part of our spiritual DNA is more than a tranquil feeling. It is the knowledge, and unwavering faith in the knowledge that we are one with God, joined with Him in the Kingdom (Amos 3:3), a partaker of His rest (provision), and joint heirs in His prosperity (including earthly riches in abundance). Spiritual battles are won and lost in the mind (not the brain which is physical). Our mind is a part of the spiritual man called the soul wherein reside the mind, the will, and our emotions. The following Scripture passage has gotten me through more than one battle.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
It is no small task to keep our mind on the Lord, on Scripture and to proclaim aloud and in our thoughts that we trust Him no matter what the enemy is bombarding our mind with at the moment. The enemy will be relentless until you resist him and refuse to think his thoughts. When we do resist and refuse to think about and talk his thoughts the Scripture tells us he will flee from us (James 4:7). Just think about the Bible Numerology associated with the James reference. James is the 20th Book of the New Testament and twenty is the number of redemption. Chapter four shows us about light (anointed Word), authority, and power. And finally, but far from least is seven the number of spiritual completion. We have been redeemed and Satan is not our god any longer unless we yield to him, we are speaking light, taking our authority, the Power of God flows and we walk spiritually complete and He must flee. He will return to test us again but we are to be sober and vigilant and send him fleeing with the next set of lies as well. We are to take every thought captive that is not of God and cast it down.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV)
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Yes, I’m still talking about peace! We have the potential for the very same peace that Jesus walked in, in the earth, and the very same peace that God has on the throne of Heaven. It does not just fall on us, we must develop it, practice it. We practice it in spite of the thoughts the devils bring to us, in spite of circumstances, in spite of our emotions. Jesus and the disciples were in the same storm but Jesus was just walking along on the water in one instance and sound asleep in the boat in another while the disciples were in a panic. One trusted God without reservation and the other was distracted by natural events. The disciples allowed their thoughts to be occupied with natural things and Jesus did not. Jesus subdued the natural from a position of peace, being one with the Father. If it wasn’t bothering the Father (nothing does) it did not bother Jesus and should not bother us. Lord willing, I will pick up here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
