AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

CROWN OF THORNS
Greetings precious children of the Father and welcome back to this powerful and life altering Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this Bible teaching as widely as possible. The featured picture is from a game camera in the backyard of two possums who came for a visit. They are so homely they are cute. COVID-19 remains a reality in our lives. Please do not fatigue in well doing. Obey the mandates (1 Peter 2:13-15, Titus 3:1-2) and please the Heavenly Father. Let’s try trading in our rebellious attitudes and actions for a submissive one. Let’s ask the Lord to show us, all of us, how to turn what the devil intended for evil to good. The author of rebellion is the devil. With the Lord’s help, proper Godly attitude, and focus we can spiritually explode expanding the Kingdom of God for the glory of God. This is a wonderful time to prune away all the unproductive and counterproductive areas of our lives. This will not happen for those in disobedience to the governing authorities which is sin. Let’s be a blessing to those in authority over us and not a curse. Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary text of our Bible Study and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:1-5 (KJV)
1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
Jesus is now just a couple of hours from the Cross, He came primarily for this purpose. Mankind desperately needed a Savior, a restoration to God’s original intent. God in His love (agape), mercy, forbearance, and desire for a very large family (His will never changes) brought Jesus (the Word, second person of the co-equal Triune God) into the earth as a man. He came to destroy the works of the devil taking away sin, redeeming us from the curse, and giving us eternal life taking away physical and spiritual death. We are already free of the law of sin and immediate spiritual death. Physical death is the inevitable consequence of spiritual death.
Romans 8:2 (KJV)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
The following passage of Scripture is quite lengthy but well worth each of us meditating upon.
1 Corinthians 15:20-28 (KJV)
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Physical death will not be destroyed until the Resurrection. Jesus is talking in the following verse. If He has the keys, we have the keys. We chose to open the door to eternal life or spiritual death and Hell.
Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Because He went to Hell we don’t have to, because He died physically and spiritually, we don’t have too. Freedom from physical death is paid for and will soon be a reality. Jesus has paid it all, it is a finished work, now we must step into it and by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit overcome (the devil, sin, and the curse). Think on the following passage, does it only apply to non-Christians?
Revelation 21:7-8 (KJV)
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow Jesus’ journey to the Cross.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
