AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this intensive Bible Study of the Book of John. God is so good dear ones, do not look to the left or the right but straight on to Him in whom we trust. Let us judge all things by the Word of God not our feelings or our natural understanding. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture is a summer scene, thought you might enjoy that about now. You will recall that in our Bible Study, Jesus, the Messiah, has gone to the Cross, has died spiritually, and now He has died physically. His soul (mind, will, and emotions) along with His dead spirit have descended into Hell. His body hangs on the Cross and the Jewish leaders want to get it and the two crucified with Him off the Cross so they can proceed with Passover. They are seemingly completely oblivious to the fact, the Truth, that The Lamb of God has just died for the sins of the whole world backward and forward in time. That is to say from the sin of Adam and Eve until the last sin before the New Heaven and New Earth. How good is our God? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:34-38 (KJV)
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
We have talked about the natural or physical side of the blood and water that gushed from the side of Jesus when it was pierced by the Roman soldier. We discussed at some length yesterday that the blood from the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden was the prophetic picture of the Blood of the Messiah which would pay the price of mans’ sin eternally. During this whole discussion I think it is important for us to remember that Jesus in eternity past, until the womb of Mary, was The Word. He was and is the second person of the Trinity (three persons of the co-equal God). The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and paid the price of sin rolling back the curse and authority Adam surrendered to Satan. We are not just returned to the level of Adam before sin but Jesus has done one better. We are not subject to the Law of Sin and Death. When Adam sinned his spirit man died immediately, and without remedy. Not so for us in Christ Jesus. It is not that sin is now okay, it most certainly is not okay on any level. We do not die spiritually or leave the family of God but sin does open the door for evil and takes us out of fellowship with our Father (Son and Holy Spirit). Jesus, the Word, became flesh and dwelt among us.
John 1:14 (KJV)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
His Blood was poured out for our eternal life, the quickening of our spirit man and His body broken so ours could be restored to immortality. What a Savior!
Luke 22:19-20 (KJV)
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Jesus was and is the sinless Lamb of God given as a sacrifice for us. We are now partakers of His Salvation; He was and is the incorruptible Seed (the Word). Let us rejoice!
1 Peter 1:18-20 (KJV)
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Now, skip down to verse twenty-three.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
