AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY
Greetings precious and wonderful saints of the only Living God and welcome back to this exciting and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. God is so good to us dear ones. Please take a moment and share this teaching to expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture is again a wonderfully joyous picture of Donna and me on our Wedding Day. I’ll say it again, God is so good. Now, let’s pick up our study by first reviewing by reading aloud, yes, out loud, our primary Bible text.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
As you will recall we are looking at what happened to Jesus once He was found innocent by Justice (the Father). We know that He was not only Resurrected from the dead, spiritual and physical, given an immortal, uncorrupted body (flesh and bone), but fully restored as God. Let’s again pick up what the Father said in the restoration of the Word, of Jesus, the Lord of Hosts.
Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
We see that Jesus is the “brightness of his glory”, the glory of the Father. Jesus is also “the express image of his person”. The “his” in both instances is the Father. Do you remember the following passage?
John 14:8-10 (KJV)
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
We are in Christ Jesus, are we the express image of the personage of the Father? We are supposed to be! Do we believe this? How long can people hang around with us and see or not see Jesus, the Father? I am not just talking about a clean lifestyle, attendance at Church, and the reciting of a Scripture here and there. Are they seeing us as Anointed of God, going about doing good and healing all those oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38)? I want to take a moment and look at this phrase from Hebrews 1:3, “and upholding all things by the word of his power”. The Word of God, the spoken Word, spoken by Jesus (the Word) has been and is upholding “all things”. All still means all, nothing excluded. This is all physical law and spiritual law. Our thoughts, our words, our decisions, and our actions whether they be good or bad are upheld by the Power of the Word of Jesus. Jesus by Himself purged (eliminated as if they never happened) our sins and then sat down at the right hand of Majesty on high. Wow, from our text, this is the man/God standing before Mary Magdalene outside the tomb and He speaks to us by His Holy Spirit. What a privilege, what an honor accorded us by God. As we end for today, let’s take a look at some of what awaits us next week. We will continue to follow the full restoration of Jesus.
Hebrews 1:4-6 (KJV)
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Think (meditate) upon these things and Lord willing, I will pick up right here Monday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
