ARMOR OF GOD – PART THIRTY-TWO
MORE ON HUSBANDS AND WIVES
Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful study of “Gifts” currently focused on the “Armor of God”. I also, want to take a moment to thank each of you who share these teachings. You are a blessing not just to this Ministry but to those who receive the share, whether they realize it at the time or not. They have never received such good news.
Before I delve into our main topic, I will share some things with you that the Lord shared with me a few weeks ago in a time of fellowship with Him. The Lord pointed out and some readers have pointed out that they don’t like it when I put a spotlight on certain activities of the Church whether it be local or corporate. That in part seems to be based on the false assumption that everyone’s opinion or beliefs are equally valid. There is no such thing as a private interpretation of Scripture or separate but equal Truths. There is but one Truth and that is the Word of God as written. If there were not problems (lack of the Truth received, believed, and confessed) in our individual lives and that of our Church rich and famous Christians would be common place. Not only would it be common place but an expected outcome shortly following salvation. Not only should we be prosperous (rich, famous and envied by the world) but we should walk in supernatural health (God’s best) and healing should be common place upon entry into the Kingdom. Much tradition and false doctrine has arisen to make us comfortable in our poverty and disease.
Come on Church, let us awake, arise, and walk in triumph. When we truly put the Kingdom of God and His Truth first, we will see these things (rich, famous, and healthy) in abundance in our own lives and those around us.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
We will see the Kingdom expand rapidly and the world will flock to us for they will want what we have. Not only that but the Lord will add all the natural aspects of our lives to us. Does He give not enough or just enough or is He a God of abundance and overflow? We will not walk as mere men but as Jesus walked and we will find ourselves doing the greater works as well. I will continue this discussion next Friday. Dear ones we have to do some really serious catchup with where we are to be, and how we are to function in the Kingdom of God in this earth. Perhaps our lack of abundant observable fruit is related to the topic for today’s study.
For the last several Fridays, I have had the audacity to discuss the topic of submission. Submitting, being submissive, has become a hated idea and is infrequently practiced. Submission (obedience, compliance, capitulation, surrender, deference) which is the opposite of rebellion or resistance is an essential part or foundation for the effective use of the Armor of God. Let’s go ahead and read our text out loud.
Ephesians 5:21-24 (KJV)
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Submission is directly related to our faith in God (His Word) but even more directly to love (agape) of God and our neighbor. Remember, agape love is the God level of love and is absolute obedience to Scripture, a selfless life, and observance of the Blood Covenant. Just so there is no misunderstanding, our submission to another person is not absolute. When we submit it cannot be in violation of Gods’ laws (commands). A very abused area related to Godly, Biblical submission relates to husbands and wives. Listen to the Apostle Paul in another place.
1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Colossians 3:18-19 (KJV)
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
A second witness, the Apostle Peter.
1 Peter 3:1 (KJV)
1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Let me remind us all that our text starts with us all including husbands and wives being submitted one to the other or giving deference one to the other. We also see the phrase in Ephesians and 1st Peter that wives are to be submitted to their own husbands. Wives are not to submit to another’s husband or for that matter any other man. Each of us submit first to God, then to our husband or wife, then to other authorities. A Godly husband should never be at variance or in violation with the Word of God. As I end for this Friday let me ask a question. Has the Lord ever made or forced you to do anything? Submission, obedience whether to the Lord, a husband, a boss, or other person of authority is always the exercise of free will.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
