Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus, The Christ, may Grace and peace be multiplied to each one as you grow in the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.
2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Now let us return to our primary study and text.
Colossians 2:9-11 (KJV)
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
O what a wonderful God we have! God made provision for us before there was a need for provision. In His great mercy He has made Himself visible to all so there is no excuse for not choosing Him (Romans 1:20). Our text starts by telling us that Jesus is every bit as much God as The Father and The Holy Spirit. He is as much God now as when He was known as The Word.
John 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Colossians 2:10 tells us that we are complete in Him. However, I am not aware of anyone operating as Jesus operated in the earth. Our demonic enemies have robbed the church of the very idea that that is even possible. The primary blame is not with our demonic enemies but us. There is a time coming my friends when the sons of God will be revealed and the Godhead will be on display in fullness. The power of the Holy Spirit will flow as a river through the sons of God. Jesus is coming back to catch away a triumphant Church not this mess we have now.
Ephesians 5:27 (KJV)
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
We all have much work to do to be like Him and we must chose to be like Him. We can be in Him (saved) and go to Heaven looking and acting nothing like Him in the earth or in the world. Let us all chose today to be like Him to the hilt.
Romans 8:19 (ESV)
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
Colossians 2:10 tells us not only are we complete in Him but because He is far above every principality and power so are we. So, if all of this is true then why are we not witness to this around us and why are we not operating like this? Short answer, we are a rebellious and deceived people, usually by choice and/or laziness. We must shake ourselves from this stupor in which we find ourselves, repent of all that is hindering us and change our thinking and words thus our actions and the work product of our lives. Once we are awake and clean we must arise and be consistent in tearing down the high places that exalt themselves against our knowledge of God whether it be in ourselves, the Church or the wider world about us. We are the light of the world, Jesus went on to Heaven and He is waiting there for the command of the Father to go get His bride, but His bride is woefully unprepared (all ten are asleep).
You may wonder when I am going to get back to the topic of circumcision. I will get back to it tomorrow. I believe the Lord wanted me to go down this road today. It may seem like a beating but it is really an encouragement of what is available. We are riding around on tricycles when a 747 is available. Once we know the will of God it is our responsibility to move purposefully in that direction. As I close out today meditate the following passage from the book of Joel describing the end and the sons of God just before the catching away (rapture).
Joel 2:1-2 (KJV)
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. (bold added)
