HEALTH and HEALING – PART THREE

Greetings precious saints of God and those who have not yet abandoned darkness and come into the Light. Welcome back to our Sunday Bible Study. Today I will continue dealing with the importance of our thought life for every area or sphere of life here and there. The featured picture is of a human brain which is part of the material realm, the natural world, the three-dimensional world. The blue lines represent the interaction of our physical brain with our mind which is a part of the immaterial realm, spirit world, the fourth dimension. Our mind is a part of our spirit man, specifically a part of the soul along with our will, and emotions. Be sure you are reading out loud and listen to our anchor Scripture for this teaching.

3 John 1:2 (NASB)

2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

This letter is written by the Apostle John, the Apostle of love, to the Church. However, this is spiritual law and works for everyone. For the Christian walking in faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit it can operate on a much higher level. You see with the phrase “in all respects” that he, the Lord through him, is speaking of everything in our lives. He is praying that we prosper in all things materially and that we be in physical health. Now, notice what limits or enhances our prosperity and health. It is the condition of our soul, specifically our thought life. We have 100% control of our thought life and it is imperative that we control our thoughts. It has been said that we cannot control other people or the circumstances around us but we can control our response.

Thoughts and words bring about change, it is spiritual law. Spiritual Law supersedes natural or physical laws. Thoughts and words bring about spiritual (4^th dimension) change and natural change (3^rd dimension). The 4^th dimension contains and controls the 3^rd dimension. Our mind is in the 4^th dimension, it is part of our spirit, and must be renewed from thinking like the world to Kingdom of God thinking. As we meditate the Word of God making it ours not only in the mind but in our spirit itself, we activate the Law of Displacement. This removes thinking like the world and replaces it with Kingdom of God thinking. Therefore, our responses will be in line with the Kingdom of God and not the world. The response will come without thinking, that is to choose the right response, but because it is who we are will be our first response and only response. Let’s take a look at a couple of Scriptures.

Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV)

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

And, now perhaps a little bit more familiar and oft quoted Scripture.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The thoughts of our mind (spiritual), be they good or bad bring about structural changes in our brain (physical). These changes trigger the production of different proteins and network connections. Toxic thinking will promote poor decision making and bring our predispositions into manifestation and bring us to a destiny we did not desire. On the other hand, healthy, Godly, thinking will promote good decisions and block our negative predispositions by a process of epigenetics. Our predispositions include not only physical illness but negative behaviors like depression, anger issues, alcoholism and so on. Our predispositions do not have to be our destiny. Do you see how vital the renewing of the mind is to our health and destiny in every arena?

Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
