HEALTH and HEALING
Greetings precious saints of God and those who have not yet abandoned darkness and come into the Light. Welcome back to our Sunday Bible Study. Today I will be dealing with the importance of our thought life for every area or sphere of life here and there. The featured picture is of a human brain which is part of the material realm, the natural world, the three-dimensional world. The blue lines represent the interaction of our physical brain with our mind which is a part of the immaterial realm, spirit world, the fourth dimension. Our mind is a part of our spirit man, specifically a part of the soul along with our will, and emotions. Be sure you are reading out loud and listen to our anchor Scripture for this teaching.
3 John 1:2 (NASB)
2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
This letter is written by the Apostle John, the Apostle of love, to the Church. However, this is spiritual law and works for everyone. For the Christian walking in faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit it can operate on a much higher level. You see with the phrase “in all respects” that he, the Lord through him, is speaking of everything in our lives. He is praying that we prosper in all things materially and that we be in physical health. Now, notice what limits or enhances our prosperity and health. It is the condition of our soul, specifically our thought life. We have 100% control of our thought life and it is imperative that we control our thoughts. It has been said that we cannot control other people or the circumstances around us but we can control our response. Now, I want to share something the Lord said to me some months ago. It is written just as it flowed into my consciousness.
WORD OF THE LORD
“Impossible to be defeated since we are in Christ Jesus – the enemy deceives us into believing we can be or are, we act defeated, the result is the same we create a defeated world all the while the reality is we are victorious in Christ Jesus.”
Isn’t that a wonderful Word, a reassurance from the only Living God, the only real God. We must always be mindful that we are in Christ Jesus. If we will stay in Him, we cannot be hurt unless He can be hurt (which isn’t happening). If we are being hurt, we have moved away from Him. By being hurt I am not talking about the threat but we are actually experiencing some aspect of the curse. Let’s hear what Jesus had to say about our thought life.
Matthew 12:34-35 (NASB)
34 “You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.
35 “The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.
The “heart” in this case is not talking about any part of our physical body but the mind, our thought life which includes the conscious and unconscious, our true beliefs. Understand that the good man and the evil man are the same person. Haven’t you ever had evil thoughts? Of course, you have, just as all of us have. Our words emanate from our thought life. Jesus, the Word, is very clear that both good and evil words will produce results, both spiritual and physical. Our words impact positively or negatively every area of our lives. All of us are predisposed to certain things positive and negative by our forebearers. However, because of the Law of Sowing and Reaping our predispositions are not necessarily our destiny.
