HE HAS SPOKEN TO THE SON AND THE SONS
Monday – June 26, 2017

Greetings and blessings from The Three Minute Word publications and welcome back to our Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. Before we delve into our Scriptures from Hebrews I want to extend an invitation to the followers of this blog who are not partners to consider becoming partners with us in the disseminating of the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. Prayerfully consider partnership and if led of the spirit simply go to the blog and you will find the partnership information in the right sidebar. Now let’s consider our primary text from the Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 1:10-12 (KJV)
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
For the last several days I have been discussing what the Father (Jehovah) said about the Son (Jesus – The Word) on the day of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead (spiritual and physical). The Holy Spirit has led the writer of this Book of Hebrews to juxtapose what the Father said to the Son that day with what the Father has said at any time to any angel(s). At the beginning of this chapter we find that God has been speaking to mankind since the Garden of Eden through the Prophets. Bottom line is that mankind as a whole did not listen. Then God sent His Son not only to speak to us but to redeem us. The people in the day of Jesus did not listen to Him either and crucified Him. Today the vast majority of the people upon the earth are not listening to the Prophets or to the Son. The Church can change that and in fact has the duty, the obligation, to bring a demonstration of Christ upon the whole earth into all the world. That will happen when we learn the thoughts, the Words, and the ways of God and do what He has assigned to us as a group and as individuals.
To bring about the redemption of all mankind God initiated a Covenant with Abram/Abraham. The first Covenant people of God (Israel) came into being through Abram/Abraham who was willing to make a Blood Covenant with God. This Blood Covenant is the New Covenant (Testament) which would legally allow the only One who could redeem mankind to enter the earth and ratify that Covenant. That Covenant was ratified with the precious Blood of Jesus, the Christ, who was a sinless unblemished man and Emmanuel (God with us – Matthew 1:23) for eternity. Blood Covenants are sealed with the blood of both parties, in this case God and man. This Covenant could not be sealed back in Genesis Fifteen because at that time God had no blood but thank you Father that you sent your Word who became flesh and has healed all who will receive Him.
We saw that Jesus was the first one begotten from the dead, the spiritual dead and the physical dead. If Jesus were not raised from the spiritual dead neither could we be born again. Whatever the Father agreed to do for the Son He must do for the sons according to Blood Covenant and He is a Covenant keeping God. Jesus was not just raised from the dead like say Lazarus but He was the first to experience the resurrection Power (Holy Spirit) of God. Not only was He restored to eternal life from spiritual death (separation from God the Father) and restored fully as God with the Father and the Holy Spirit but He was given an incorruptible flesh and bone body (glorified) as well. Jesus, the Word, has a flesh and bone body today which is uncorrupted and indestructible. We too, soon will be receiving a body like unto His (Romans 8:23).
The Father says that the defining feature of the Kingdom of God is righteousness. Righteousness (justice) was obtained and is available for all of mankind by the work of Jesus Christ from His descent into the womb of the virgin Mary to His return to the mercy seat of Heaven with His ratifying and redeeming Blood (Romans 3:22). We have learned that this righteousness is not only right standing with God in Christ Jesus but it is justice first for the Son who was innocent and we who are declared innocent in Christ Jesus. We have the same standing with God as Jesus. I mean that is a mouthful.
Jesus loved righteousness and hated iniquity. Iniquity (sin) takes one out of righteousness, out of right standing with the Father, and demands justice which before the Cross and at the Cross was immediate separation from God (Matthew 27:46). In Christ Jesus, we are made the righteousness of God and this right standing, the doing of things God’s way, opens all the Kingdom of God as a pleasant vista before us for His purposes. Why do we individually and as a people of God put limitations of what we expect from God, from our Covenant with a person who is our Father, our Redeemer, and a Power without limits? In Christ Jesus, which is in God, we have no limits. Why are we talking and acting like worms in the dirt when we are kings in the earth and seated at the right hand of Majesty on high in Christ Jesus and priests before God for other men? Look at this in the natural for a moment. When a person works for a company, and they abide by the Policy and Procedure Manuel (Word of God) all the assets of that company are brought to bear to assure that the assigned mission is accomplished. Is our God less faithful than a company here in the earth with intrinsic limitations?
I have talked about the “oil of gladness” which the Father poured out on Jesus, the Son, and has been poured out on us in Christ Jesus. This oil of gladness is joy and the joy of the Lord is our strength. The Father was pleased with the Son, the obedience of the Son brought joy to the heart of the Father and the result was that the full Anointing of God was poured out on the Son and was the strength of the Son. Just think the Son was restored as God, restored to the Throne of Heaven and seated at the right hand of Majesty on high, He was restored to eternal life spirit and body, and He was given a glorious eternal incorruptible body. Because of the Blood Covenant we also in Christ Jesus are restored (and more) in like fashion even as mankind in the Garden of Eden before sin. The difference now is that we are in Christ Jesus so if we do sin we do not die spiritually immediately with no way back. We can repent and invoke the Blood Covenant and we are cleansed immediately and forever.
Tomorrow I will pick-up with verse ten and then slide right into verse eleven from our text.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
