WHO HAS SEEN THE FATHER?
Friday – January 18, 2019, Sh’vat 12, 5779

Greeting and welcome back to this wonderfully powerful teaching of the Bible Book of John. God is so good to give us His Word that we need not stumble in the dark yet we do. Could it be that we too are not being taught of God but are giving heed to the traditions of men and the doctrine of demons for they are more soothing to our ears and leave us comfortably in a place of unrighteousness? As you can see by the featured picture that winter continues. Please don’t forget to hit the “like” and “share” buttons if you are getting this on Facebook. Remember when you share it extends the reach of this ministry considerably. Now let us dive into our Bible Study for today by first reading our primary Bible text aloud.
John 6:42-47 (KJV)
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Jesus is telling the people, the Jews, gathered that day that the Prophets (Isaiah and Jeremiah) had prophesied a day to come which has now come when all people will be taught by God Himself, however, only those that hear and learn will come to Jesus. When we speak of all peoples being taught of God this come by various means including Anointed teachers, pastors, and so on. Once we come to Jesus the teaching by God, The Teacher, continues by many means including the Five-Fold Ministers and our own study at home. I’m talking about study, not listening to a tape or reading a chapter not that these are not worthy things to do however, they are not a substitute for study. Study means that we look at context, we ask who is talking and who are they talking to, we look at what words mean in the Hebrew or Greek, we look at the tense of the verb, we look at cross references, and we even look at the number and gender of the words. The Holy Spirit our main teacher takes that information and helps us to categorize it and implement it in our lives. Let’s take a look at how Jesus speaks on this topic of God teaching us later in this same Book of John.
John 14:23-26 (KJV)
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
As we look at the preceding passage, we see an extremely important context brought to the forefront. Jesus starts off talking about what it means to love Him. To love Him, to love God means that we value them in the very highest place nothing before them in obedience to them, the Word. In that context there will be the manifestation of God in our lives including being taught of the Lord. If we are not doing what we already know He is not going to manifest in our lives and He is not going to take us into further depth or knowledge until we do what we know to do right now. Perhaps for some this explains why there has been no forward movement in understanding or manifestation of God in our lives for years, perhaps decades. We must never forget that in general we cannot divorce one verse from the surrounding verses and so it is here. If one is going to enjoy the teachings of Holy Spirit, we must be committed to love the Lord, His Word, which means we are doing the Word we know to do. Once we deviate from that and follow the fables of man, we lose contact thinking we are in touch but are way off track. The way to tell we are off track is that if everything is natural in our lives, totally of our doing, and we are not seeing the supernatural or the opening of new revelation where we just say; “wow Lord, thank you for that”. As we turn our attention to verse forty-six, we see reference to seeing the Father. Let’s remind ourselves of the following passage and Lord willing next week I will pick-up right here.
John 14:8-10 (KJV)
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
