WILL YOU ALSO GO AWAY?
Monday – February 11, 2019, Adar A 6, 5779

Greetings my dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this powerful study of the Bible Book of John. God is so good to give a roadmap that is exact and filled only with victory. We observe ourselves and people around us winning some and losing some, mostly losing but that should not be dear saints. If we will be diligent and honest to understand ourselves, understand our enemy, and the key to both is the Word of God we can be victorious 100% of the time. The Word of God is our life and our victory. The manifestation of the abundance of God in our life is directly proportional to the Word we know and have faith in which is spoken in faith and love and not corrupted by perverse speech. Perverse speech is anything that contradicts the Word of God. If you are on Facebook please hit the “like” and “share” buttons. The featured picture is of a Baptist Church in Somerset Texas about 7 miles from where I used to live in Texas. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary text in the Book of John and read it aloud.
John 6:66-71 (KJV)
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
Jesus has been talking to them about eating His flesh and drinking His blood and this has caused quite a stir as you might imagine. As we know and they came to know He was not talking about physically eating His body or His Blood. He was conveying the idea, spiritual reality, the Truth, that our commitment to Him had to match His commitment to us for the fulness of the Word to work in our lives. An unequal relationship, unbalanced relationship especially in our relationship with God or with a spouse will leave a lot to be desired. Jesus gave His body for our sin, His blood for our sin, to seal the Covenant, give us protection, and give eternal life. In return we give all of ourselves to Him, to the Kingdom of God. In that arrangement our lives will glow with the goodness, the Glory, of God. We are a rebellious people however and want to do it our way, and I might just ask you as I ask myself, “how is that working out?”
In verse sixty-six we saw how many of His disciples “walked no more with him.” When we come to what appears to be the hard things of this Christian walk, do we trust Him and seek further understanding all the while staying in obedience, in love, or do we also turn away. Our turning away takes victory out of our lives and opens the doors and the windows for the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. Let’s see, do we want the victory, the abundance in this life and eternal life in the time to come which Jesus bought for us at Calvary or do we want the devil to have a hay day in our lives? As silly as the question may sound, people are choosing to give the devil a hay day in droves, just look at your life, look around. The fruit of Calvary is never financial poverty, sickness, or brokenness of any kind in our lives, that is the fruit of not trusting God with everything fully focused on Him.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Psalm 37:3-5 (KJV)
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Is there anything that you or I don’t understand about these verses? If we understand them why are we not in possession of the promised fruit? If we don’t have the promised fruit, the always good result (not just spiritual but in this physical life) could it be we just don’t believe it? In our primary text we next find Jesus turning to the twelve and asking, “Will ye also go away?” Not doing the Word of God we know is the same as going away, it takes us out of agreement with our Lord.
Amos 3:3 (KJV)
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
The amount of agreement each of us have with the Word of God and obedience to the Word of God is reflected in the quality of our physical and spiritual lives. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
