STILL MORE ABOUT FATHER ABRAHAM
Wednesday – April 24, 2019, Nisan 19, 5779

Greetings my precious and treasured brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, I am so honored that you are friends and partners of this ministry. Thank you. The pictures this week will be of wildlife in various natural and stunning settings. If you are viewing this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach and impact of this ministry. After all, your friends are going to give this a higher place because it comes from you and will not be seen as junk mail on receipt. Now let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study of the Book of John by reading our primary text aloud.
John 8:56-59 (KJV)
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Today we will continue to follow this account along, the account of the Trail of Blood that flows from the Garden, through Abram (Abraham), the father of us all, to the Cross and the Mercy Seat of Heaven. The following passage is critical in the journey of Abraham becoming the father of us all and establishing the Blood Covenant that Jesus later confirmed with His eternal Blood.
Genesis 15:17-18 (KJV)
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Here in Genesis chapter fifteen the Lord speaks to Abram who starts complaining about not having an heir, a son. As an interesting point, look at the following verse.
Genesis 15:1 (KJV)
1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Let me ask this question, who is the “word of the LORD”? The ”word of the LORD” is the Word, the second person of the co-equal persons of God, the one we call Savior, Christ Jesus the Lord. You will find this phrase many times in what is commonly labeled as the Old Testament. When you do, in your head just translate it to ‘the Word’ or ‘Jesus’. I thought you might enjoy that little tidbit.
Now back to verses seventeen and eighteen. In the preceding verses the Word assures Abram that not only will he have a natural child but a supernatural child is coming. This supernatural child is the Word Himself and from that seed, singular as in one, will come forth a multitude as innumerable as the stars (the Church). The Word had Abram gather and sacrifice certain animals and in verse seventeen we find “a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp” passing between the pieces of the sacrifice in the blood of those innocent animals. This is when the surrogate blood of animals temporarily sealed the New Blood Covenant in which we rejoice, which was finally sealed forever with the eternal Blood of Christ. The two persons going between the pieces of the animals is the Word, the one who will be Christ Jesus in the earth, and the Holy Spirit who is the one who empowered Jesus (like He empowers us) to do all things. In the Book of Hebrews, the Holy Spirit, the Blessing is referred to as the Eternal Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). These two co-equal persons of God Covenanted that day with the Father for the redemption of the lost children. In the same day a Covenant was made with Abram for the Jewish people forever. As you may recall the child of promise doesn’t show when Abram or Sarah thought he should, so Sarah his wife suggests Abram go into Hager, Sarah’s maid, to obtain this son. This causes a great delay in the manifestation of the promise of God just as our dalliances (not always a sexual romantic thing) cause delays in our lives. We will next pick up with our account of Abram and seeing the day of Jesus in chapter seventeen tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
