GO WASH
Friday – May 3, 2019, Nisan 28, 5779

Greetings dear partners and friends of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc., and The Three Minute Word publication. As you may know I am doing a verse by verse through the Book of John. If you are seeing this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons. The featured pictures this week will be from “game camera’s” on the Texas ranch. You never know what wild critters you might see on these cameras. Today’s picture is of myself and my dog Renna on the Ranger going to check the deer feeder and just enjoying ourselves. Now let’s go to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 9:5-8 (KJV)
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
There is much speculation about the spitting, the clay, and the placing of this mud on the man’s eyes. This is the only account of this incident in the gospels so we do not have the benefit of another author’s view. There is conjecture about the thought that spittle had medicinal value in the time of Jesus or that the clay also may have had medicinal value to the particular etiology of this blindness. God will meet us where we are using natural things and help us build our faith from there to a supernatural level. God’s best is always the supernatural for it brings a completion of the healing, a wholeness, and eliminates any residual whereas natural remedies may need to be taken continuously sometimes and there is residual. It strikes me that this man likely had faith in natural things and Jesus had to bring him to a supernatural level. The pool of Siloam is thought to have been dug by Hezekiah and they all no doubt knew the story of Hezekiah and how his life was prolonged. Once this mud was applied Jesus commanded the man to go wash in the pool requiring the man to remove the natural remedy applying the Word and receiving the supernatural by faith and the appropriate corresponding action. Having done this, the man came seeing.
Now here come the doubters, the neighbors, who no doubt knew this man very well, and they were so willing to doubt that they starting questioning if this was even the same man. Think about that. This is the enemy at work big time and he tries to do similar things everyday in our lives if we will allow. We can cut the devil’s workload down tremendously if we will just be forgiving, tender, and loving with people. If as according to Philippians 4:8 we will think upon the things that are true, just, pure, good report and so on casting aside rumors (anything that is not first-hand knowledge) and anything contrary to the Word of God.
John 9:9-12 (KJV)
9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
This man who was once blind had to reassure them that he was indeed the neighbor who was once blind. In that day blind persons were beggars but he was a beggar no more. The people start to enquire as to how this happened once, they were satisfied it was indeed the man who was once blind. This is when the man testifies that it was “A man that is called Jesus” who made clay and anointed his eyes, telling him to wash in the pool of Siloam restoring his sight. Now, the neighbors are quite interested and want to know where this Jesus might be, however, the blind man did not know. Since he could not answer their question he is brought to the Pharisees. Do you see the complete lack of joy for this man and the complete lack of rejoicing only skepticism otherwise known as unbelief? The next two verses once again bring us to the legalistic crux of the issue.
John 9:13-14 (KJV)
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
Oh no, Jesus is again working on the Sabbath day! Lord willing, I will pick up this study on Monday and the Sabbath Day.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
