BELIEVE THE WORKS
Thursday – June 27, 2019, Sivan 24, 5779

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in Christ, and we extend the warmest greetings as well to those who have not decided to make Jesus Lord. All are welcome to this empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to let me know you are on board. Sharing also extends the reach of this very important Ministry and Anointed study. The featured pictures this week are of various Churches literally from around the world. These structures and others are where the real Church gathers to develop their battle plans. Now let’s turn to our study by first reading our primary Bible text aloud.
John 10:34-38 (KJV)
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
We have discussed some of the works (miracles) manifest in the life and ministry of Jesus and He has made it clear here and elsewhere that it is not Him but the Father. The Father is not doing it directly but by the agency or through the Holy Spirit, the Power of God. That is not to say that one person of the Triune co-equal God cannot do what another can do, it simply says that there is a division of activities like in a business, healthy home, or marriage. So, there is no confusion, in the life and ministry of Jesus in the earth He did not act as God but as an Anointed man. And, we are to function in exactly the same fashion. If Jesus was acting as God in the earth and not as a man why would God have needed to Anoint Him?
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Why is the word Christ in front or following the name Jesus if He was operating as God? Jesus challenges the Jews, the religious rulers of the day saying if I don’t do the works of the Father than don’t believe me, but if these are the works of the Father at least believe the works. This is interesting because it appears that Jesus is saying that the rulers were in some way denying that these various miracles, works were taking place. However, if these are things the Father, Jehovah, would do and they are by my hand, then you should believe He is in me and I in Him. Of course, dear saints, we occupy exactly the same position as Jesus in the Father in Christ Jesus. I have heard it said that miracles are not the basis for salvation or faith but it is the dinner bell that brings people to hear the message that activates faith for salvation. Keep in mind that the miracles and so on are not a confirmation of the person but of the message, the Word, brought by the person. This is what Jesus is saying in essence here with the added caveat that He (Jesus) is also trying to get them to recognize Him as the Messiah. As Scripture prophesied the Jews did reject the Messiah and that allowed us Gentiles to be grafted into the same olive tree. In this way was the prophecy that all the peoples of the earth would be blessed through Abraham. This came by Blood Covenant through Abraham. Let’s take a look at what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Rome with regard to the Jews rejecting the Messiah and the Gentiles being grafted or adopted into the same family, the same olive tree. This is a rather long passage but please take a moment and meditate upon it as you read it. If it were not for Abraham, if it were not for the Jews, Hebrews, there would be no Church. We are the wild branches and the Jews are the natural branches.
Romans 11:20-29 (KJV)
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Now back to our primary text where we see the Jews again are very dissatisfied with what Jesus has to say and so again, they want to take Him and kill Him.
John 10:39 (KJV)
39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
We stand by faith; they fell by unbelief just like the Israelites when they would not enter the Promised Land. Lord willing, I will pick up with our primary text tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
