THE PROPHETIC VOICE – PART SIX
LAW OF ASSOCIATIONS – PART ONE
Sunday – July 28, 2019, Tamuz 25, 5779

Greetings to one and all and welcome back to this fascinating, instructive, empowering, and essential Bible Study concerning Prophets and prophecy. God is so good to give us all that we need to succeed in an over the top fabulous fashion. If you are reading this on Facebook take just one moment (no excuses) to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give feedback to me and expand the reach of the Truth. Today I want to briefly discuss an idea, a spiritual principle (law) that you may have heard of before but perhaps in a little different way but none the less the same law. I will start with the following Scripture.
Matthew 10:41 (KJV)
41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
I am going to talk at least to some extent about the “prophet’s reward”. I will also be talking about associations between peoples and the benefits or deleterious effects of those associations. Jesus is telling us in the preceding passage that we are to receive righteous peoples (those made right in the eyes of God) as such. The reward of the righteous man (person) is the fulness of salvation. If we do not receive them as such, we have passed judgment thinking or saying they are not in right standing then we also are not in right standing and our reward is absent or diminished by sin. It is perfectly okay to judge matters but it is sin to judge people which is to declare the consequences of their actions (thoughts, words, actions). Let’s illuminate this as it relates to the Prophet. Jesus is saying that if we will recognize and receive the Prophet as a Prophet, we will receive the Prophet’s. This reward is a special reward that is due us for honoring the vessel, the voice of God. On the other hand, if we do not honor the Prophet, we will not receive this reward. Let’s consider the following example of Elisha and the Shunammite woman.
2 Kings 4:8-10 (KJV)
8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
Some of you may have heard of a ‘Prophet’s Chamber’, well this is exactly what this woman provided for the Prophet Elisha and his servant Gehazi. So, following that time they would stay there as they passed by in their journeys. This woman had no son and that was a desire of her heart.
2 Kings 4:16-17 (KJV)
16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.
She indeed had the desired son because she honored the man of God, Elisha, as a Prophet and took concrete steps to honor him (built a chamber). There comes a day when the boy is in the field with his father and dies. This great woman of God puts the boy in the Prophets Chamber and goes to the Prophet.
2 Kings 4:25-26 (KJV)
25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:
26 Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.
This is a woman of faith. As you may know Elisha comes to the house, the boy is raised from the dead, and restored to his mother, the Shunammite woman (a Gentile). Again, the Prophets reward. Later a famine is coming upon the land and she is warned by the Prophet.
2 Kings 8:1 (KJV)
1 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
Again, the Prophet’s reward on display. When she returns after the famine someone has taken over her property and she went to the King to make her case. The result is that all and more is restored.
2 Kings 8:6 (KJV)
6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
Now let me leave you with the following question, is it desirable and profitable for us to honor the children of God and to honor (highly value) the Prophet God has put in your life?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
