A SEED SOWN AND A GREAT HARVEST
Wednesday – August 14, 2019, Av 13, 5779

Greetings dear partners and friends of this Ministry and this blog and welcome back to this empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. It is only empowering if one chooses to receive, believe, and on purpose bring about a change in thought, speech, and action. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give feedback to me and to expand the reach of these teachings. The featured picture today is of Rangeley Lake from an overlook. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and make a deep dive into the Truth.
John 12:4-11 (KJV)
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
At this point Jesus speaks. Let’s take a look at it in a different Bible translation.
John 12:7-8 (TLB)
7 Jesus replied, “Let her alone. She did it in preparation for my burial.
8 You can always help the poor, but I won’t be with you very long.”
I don’t know that Mary knew or for that matter anyone else at the table that day knew that Jesus would be on the Cross dying for their sins and ours in five days. The Holy Spirit knew and prepared Mary’s heart to do this prophetic act so meaningful for the generations to follow. Jesus tells them that His time is now short and His burial is at hand. Jesus was the first preacher of the good news of redemption, of salvation, but when He was sown many others were birthed. Jesus was born to die. The preachers who are possible by the death and resurrection of Christ were and are Anointed with the same anointing as Jesus and their feet are just as beautiful as those of Jesus.
John 12:23-24 (KJV)
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Just look at the fruit that has arisen from Christ Jesus being sown. You and me are part of that fruit, precious fruit. And now we in a multitude of ways preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:14-15 (KJV)
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
We are all a part of this. You may say well, I’m not in ministry. That will be a surprise to the Word, to God, for we are all in ministry. While it is true that most are not called to function in the Five-Fold Ministry we are commanded to minister.
Ephesians 4:10-13 (KJV)
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
