SERVANT OR REBEL?

Greetings to the precious partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Blog. Also, welcome back to this empowering (to the extent we choose) Bible Study of the Book of John. The featured pictures this week will be of various Churches here in Maine, I hope you enjoy. Of course, these buildings are not the Church, we the people of God are the Church. These buildings are a schoolhouse for the Church and but one place of work. Now, let’s turn our attention to todays Bible Study by turning our attention to the primary Bible text and reading it aloud.
John 12:28-34 (KJV)
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
As you will recall in the Book of John, we are now reading and studying the record of the last five days of the Ministry of Jesus in the earth. As I have taught many times, these five days are the fulfillment of the prophetic images of the first Passover recorded in Exodus. This week as recorded over many chapters will culminate with Jesus on the Cross, the fourteenth of Nisan. Fourteen is the number of deliverance or salvation and one (Nisan is the first month on the Hebrew calendar) is the number of unity. A return to oneness (unity) with God was bought (purchased) by Christ Jesus upon the Cross, a fulness of salvation, of deliverance. Salvation is not just fire insurance, and a ticket to Heaven. Now, I am prompted by the Holy Spirit to back up to verse twenty-six for a moment.
John 12:26 (KJV)
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Notice that one can be saved, born again but not serving the Lord, which is to do the will of God, to be obedient to the Word of God. The verse starts with “if”, it is a choice ladies and gentlemen, what have we chosen? Before any of us answer that we are just a cracker jack for the Lord let us really examine the fruit of our lives. Loving the Lord is not an emotional high during the song service but obedience to the Word, observance of the Blood Covenant, and selflessness. If and when we choose to serve, if and when we choose to follow, then and only then will we be where He is. Recall the following verses.
Amos 3:3 (KJV)
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
John 14:21 (TLB)
21 The one who obeys me is the one who loves me; and because he loves me, my Father will love him; and I will too, and I will reveal myself to him.”
Disobedience by definition is a lack of agreement with God, with Scripture, and thus we are not walking with God. Let us strive to not be in disobedience very long whether it be due to ignorance, a willful lack of study, a lack of diligence with the Word of God, or outright rebellion. Let us repent and be all in for Jesus, He went all in for us! This is not to say one is not headed to Heaven, but for sure one is headed for disasters in the earth with a lousy witness for the goodness of God. Disobedience, unbelief, is sin and flings the door wide open for our spiritual enemies to bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives which they are very happy to do with all glee. Sin brings varying degrees of the curse into our lives but ultimately the curse will be on full display for all to see. Evidence of the curse will be, is our fruit.
Let me bring something into illumination again that we must not forget especially when we are talking about Jesus. In eternity past Jesus was the Word (John 1:1), and He remains the Word and He is also Jesus our savior (Jehovah saved). When we are serving Jesus, we are being obedient to the Word, the Word of God, we are honoring Jesus, honoring the Father. In return honor comes to us from the Father in our obedience, in our service. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary the word “honour” here means to prize, fix a valuation upon; to value. Remember, Jesus only said what the Father said (what Jesus or the Word said always originates with the Father), did what He saw the Father doing, and the Father did the works or confirmed the Word. Is this something we are interested in? Are you, am I, interested in the Father honoring us? Are we interested enough to be all in for Him and see Him work through us?

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
