LIFTED UP FROM THE EARTH
Thursday – September 5, 2019, Elul 5, 5779
Greetings to the precious partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Blog. Also, welcome back to this empowering (to the extent we choose) Bible Study of the Book of John. Of course, these buildings are not the Church, we the people of God are the Church, we the Church are chosen to be the governing body in the earth. When will we pick up on that Truth? Now, let’s turn our attention to today’s Bible Study by turning our attention to the primary Bible text and reading it aloud.
John 12:31-36 (KJV)
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
The goodness or glory of God was shown in the creation when man was established in the God class with a life like that of God Himself. Following sin, the goodness, the glory of God was shown in the first Covenant sealed with innocent animal blood. Next it was shown in the coming of Jesus and the spilling of a sinless mans Blood and the subsequent Resurrection, which gave us a way back to full communion with God, back to the original intent of God. Finally, His glory, His goodness will be shown in the new heaven and new earth and the casting of Satan into the lake of fire forever. Of course, all along the way there were myriads of examples of the glory, the goodness, of God towards His people, towards mankind, I have named a few of the major ones. I said all of that as a reference back to verse twenty-eight. By the way, twenty-eight is the number of eternal life. Interesting don’t you think?
John 12:28 (KJV)
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
The goodness of the name of God was on full display in all the cases I mentioned and an enumerable others in the Bible and we all could name many in our own lives. When Jesus burst out of the grave and was fully restored to the throne of God as God the goodness (glory) of the name was ablaze forever. Oh, what a Savior! With the Cross only hours, a few days away, Jesus says the following.
John 12:32-33 (KJV)
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
Jesus is about to be lifted up from the earth on a Cross and there shed His Blood and die spiritually in our place and die physically to conquer physical death and in our resurrection provide man once again with an immortal physical body. Because the Father gave Jesus an immortal body, by Covenant, He gives us one as well. Rejoice in the following passage.
Romans 8:23 (TLB)
23 And even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. We, too, wait anxiously for that day when God will give us our full rights as his children, including the new bodies he has promised us—bodies that will never be sick again and will never die.
When Jesus ascended to the Throne, the right hand of the Father, He sent the promised Holy Spirit (the Blessing) into the earth to empower mankind who worshipped God as in the beginning. The Holy Spirit draws all people to the Master, all are without excuse. The word “reprove” in verse eight below means to bring conviction. God condemns no one, people condemn themselves (John 3:18).
John 16:7-11 (KJV)
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
