I SPEAK WHAT THE FATHER SPEAKS
Friday – September 20, 2019, Elul 20, 5779
Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God is so good to give us His Word to light our path. Let me point out that the Word of God only lights our path when it is received as absolute Truth, by faith, in love, and led of the Holy Spirit. One of the things I strongly encourage each one who reads Scripture or these teachings is to translate various words to the root meaning. For example, ‘love’ above is agape (Greek) love which means obedience to the Word of God, adherence to Blood Covenant, and a selfless lifestyle. I hope you have noticed that there is not one drop of emotion in Godly love, agape love. The Word we receive or have as a simple academic exercise has no power or light in our lives, it is simply information like any other information. Unwavering faith must be applied. The pictures featured this week were taken in the fall here in Maine a few years ago, I hope you find them enjoyable. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and dive into the Word for us today.
John 12:47-50 (KJV)
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
As we examine our primary Bible text Jesus tells us that He did not come to judge the world but to save it. At that time and this present time, He is not judging the world however two great judgments are coming in which He will be the judge. First is the Bema of Christ or Judgement Seat of Christ (judging of the saints) and the other is the White Throne Judgment (judging of the sinners).
John 5:22 (KJV)
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Back to our primary Bible text we find that the standard for judgement is the words that Jesus spoke. I do not see this as just those words in red in the four gospels but every Word that has proceeded from the mouth of God. Remember every Word spoken of God was through the Word and the Word is Jesus. As we come into verse forty-nine Jesus again reminds us that He did not pick the words spoken but they came from the Father. Jesus as an Anointed man (Christ Jesus) in the earth was commanded by the Father to speak certain words and those were the only words that Jesus spoke. Can any of us say the same? Why not? Remember, Jesus is our prime example, no other Bible figure is our prime example although we can learn from them all. He said that we were do the things He did and even greater things. What is the hold up? Are we choosing darkness over light? Verses 49 and 50 are not isolated instances of this command to say only what the Father says and do only what the Father does.
John 3:34 (KJV)
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
If we are happy with little to no Power of the Spirit, we can ignore this but what if we take it seriously let’s start doing it.
John 5:19 (KJV)
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Are we still in the “yeah but that was Jesus” mode or are we ready to take the Word of God seriously and do it?
John 8:26-29 (KJV)
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
John 8:38 (KJV)
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
Who is our real father? Is it God or Satan? Our thoughts, our words and the fruit thereof will tell!

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
