MORE REVELATION ON FOOT WASHING
Friday – September 27, 2019, Elul 27, 5779

Greetings my very precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. God is good and nothing but good. That is not just a religious saying, or pep rally talk to puff one another up, but it is the reality of God, of the Kingdom of God. Whatever is not good in our lives we have allowed even invited by our choices not His. Perhaps you are thinking right now, “why in the world did I start reading this?” Don’t be wimps, read on dear saints. Until we take full responsibility for our thoughts, our words, and the actions that follow we will be stuck in a spiral of defeat. White knuckling it until Jesus comes or we die. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback and to partner with us in spreading the good news of the Kingdom of God. Oh, by the way welcome back to this ongoing and powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Let’s dive into todays lesson by first reading aloud our primary Bible text.
John 13:4-8 (KJV)
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
When we left off yesterday, we were in the midst of looking at Jesus washing the feet of the disciples with fresh eyes, the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Hopefully this look will expand our insight and vision concerning the message of this passage. We were examining the following points.
- Jesus laid aside His garment just as Elijah did, Elisha pick up his garment. This is a type and shadow of Jesus (Elijah) and us (Elisha). Jesus the Anointed One returned to Heaven and made His very own Anointing (the Holy Spirit) available to all. Have we picked it up and done twice as many miracles (Elisha did twice as many as Elijah) and as Jesus commanded the greater things (John 14:12)?
- Have we allowed Jesus to cleanse us by His Word, to cleanse our feet which take this gospel of good news wherever we go? We looked yesterday at the passage in Ephesians of Christ (groom) cleansing the Church (bride) with the Word and husbands cleansing their wives and themselves simultaneously with the Word of God. We cannot speak the Word of God to another without hearing it ourselves.
- Next Jesus told them that if they did not allow Him to do this, they would have no part in Him. Of course, without the Word we are not connected with Him. We cannot walk with Him and maintain high levels of ignorance of the Truth (Word) (Amos 3:3). Without the Word cleansing us and being active and vibrant in our lives we are useless to God, to the Kingdom of God and hinder the plan of God not just for ourselves but others. This is extraordinarily serious dear saints of God. Do not tempt the mercy, the forbearance of God. Scripture tells us that a day is coming when God will wipe away our tears. When we get to the other side, and stand at the Judgement Seat of Christ and we see all that we missed, some on purpose, some in deception, we would not be capable of stopping our crying but God in His mercy will wipe it and the tears away forever. Next, I asked the question of why did Jesus wash their feet and not another part of the body like the mouth?
Romans 10:13-15 (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Jesus was the Fathers’ feet in the earth and now we are Jesus’ feet, the Kingdom of Gods’ feet in the earth. We are cleansed by the precious Blood, the precious Word of God spoken by the living voice (Jesus the Word). Consider the following.
Ephesians 6:14-16 (KJV)
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
You will recognize this as part of the armor of God which we must put on at salvation and never ever remove in any part. We want the pure Word, the pure water, the uncorrupted Word of the gospel of peace. We want and have not just peace with God but we are freely given the peace of God. This can only be worn by clean feet, feet cleansed by the pure Water, the Word of God. We are one with God, we have His tranquility, His prosperity, His rest or provision, the Blood and the Word have made us one again. We must ask ourselves if this is true in our lives, if not, why not. Perhaps we have not allowed Jesus (the Word, the Word of God) to cleanse us.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
