IN THE NAME OF JESUS
Friday – November 15, 2019, Cheshvan 17, 5780

Greeting wonderfully precious saints of the Most High God. Oh, how good is our God who has redeemed us from the curse and has seated us with Him in Christ Jesus in the Heavenly place. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to do your part in expanding the reach of this Ministry. God is so good! The pictures this week have been of various landscapes here in Maine and today as usual is of my precious Donna and me. As you can see, I am proud as a peacock that I finally got the girl. Although we walk by spiritual faith (calling those things that be not as though they are) and not by physical sight, God our Father, has given us the Word of God which is spiritual light (sight) to keep us safe and on His path for us. Storms will come but we must fight to not let them in for every storm brings fear and with fear comes torment. Our God is not a God of fear and torment but love and comfort. We may feel fear, it is a good warning the thing is not of God, but we do not have to speak fear or act upon fear. Speaking fear and reacting to fear are both our choices. Now let’s continue our study of the Bible Book of John and let’s read our primary text aloud as we start.
John 14:12-15 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Today I will continue further in the discussion of THE NAME, the name of Jesus. Todays teaching will be mainly Scripture, what better Teacher? That name, the name of Jesus, strikes fear in the hearts of the heathen and their god Satan. When we use that name correctly every knee will bow, they will and do bow right now, not at some distant time, and not only to Jesus, but to us who are in Him and have His name.
Philippians 2:10 (AMP)
10 That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Compare this with the following familiar passage from Ephesians.
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
This not just talking about Christ Jesus being “far above” but us dear saints! Not only is Jesus seated at the right hand of God the Father but so are we in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the Head of the body (Church) and we are in the body; the feet are in the body. Verse twenty-one is not just talking about evil spirits but good spirits as well. That is why we can dispatch angels and the Holy Spirit to minister for us, to minister on our behalf on Kingdom business.
Ephesians 2:5-6 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Now I want to show you something very interesting about the use of the name of Jesus. We generally say and I suspect most of us have said this and heard this said countless times; “in the name of Jesus”. Let’s use the following verse as our example but there are many verses to choose from.
Acts 3:6 (KJV)
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Let’s focus on the word “in”. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary the word “in” is a primary preposition denoting a (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively). The thing I want us all to notice is the instrumentality of the word “in”. The name Jesus is like a key that opens doors, a light switch, or a tool that makes an impossible job easy. So, when we say “in the name of Jesus” we have loosed an instrument, the name Jesus, to accomplish all that is needed and more to accomplish the desired task. Let us be so careful to give that name great reverence but know with certainty that it is our name as well.
Isaiah 43:7 (KJV)
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
James 2:7 (TLB)
7 And all too often they are the ones who laugh at Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear.
Jesus is the bridegroom and we the bride, we have been given His name just as in a natural marriage. We are made joint-heirs and have access to all that He has access too whether it be natural wealth and health, or supernatural authority and power. Let us rejoice dear ones of God.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
