TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART FORTY-SEVEN
STAND YOUR GROUND

Greetings dear and precious saints of the Most High God and welcome back to this powerful, freeing, and illuminating study dividing light from darkness. It is hard for us to imagine perhaps that darkness can appear as light but it is indeed true. That of course is directly related to our operating in our thoughts only in the natural or carnal sphere. If all one has known is darkness and stumbling around in life then the idea of light and no need to stumble anymore does not even sound reasonable or attainable. Jesus discusses this very problem.
Matthew 6:21-23 (KJV)
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Our primary and perfect example of how to walk is Christ Jesus. He walked always led of the Spirit of God, never stumbling, never sinning, all light and zero darkness in His life. Thus, another lie is born to explain why we can’t do the same, “but that was Jesus”. However, this explanation is devoid of a Scriptural foundation. First Jesus operated in His earthly ministry as a man, not God, and He told us we were (not try) to do as He did which would include being without sin.
Philippians 2:7 (TLB)
7 but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men.
John 14:12 (AMP)
12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
Now to our primary study. I suspect we have all seen or heard the following phrases; “Stand Your Ground” and “Duty to Retreat”? Which statement do you suppose the devil is promoting? And, how much retreating do you figure God wants us to do? Just how much backing up did Jesus do when confronted with evil, with the curse, with demons? Jesus always stood His ground and always won hands down. Everything natural has its origin in the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm is the superior realm and gives rise to all that we see in the physical realm. The meditations of our hearts (mind) and the words of our mouth (both of which are spirit) in which we have faith forms our world whether these thoughts and words be good or bad.
Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The Word of God is spirit, unseen to the natural eye, but is the creative force for all physical matter. We can understand spiritual things by observing the natural things; they are a mirror image of the spiritual (shadow or pattern).
Romans 1:20 (KJV)
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Jesus told us that out of the abundance of the heart (soul) the mouth speaks, our words are spirit (John 6:63), and the good man brings forth good things and the evil man evil brings forth evil things by what he speaks. The words we believe (have faith in) have power whether for good or bad. Our idle (nonoperative or words we do not believe) simply allow the curse to run rampant in our lives.
Luke 6:45 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Ideas are important for they change our speech and our actions. Be careful what you hear, what ideas you take for your own. Once we take one idea, we will take more of the same, if the first is a lie, then what are they that follow? Let’s seek after a steady diet of the Truth.
Mark 4:24 (KJV)
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
The idea of standing our ground is a God idea, having a duty to retreat is a devilish idea. We must never compromise the Word of God even what we consider a little bit. That little bit of leaven, leavens the whole and produces corrupt fruit. This is true on the spiritual level, the soul (mind) level, and the physical level. Always follow the promptings of God.
Ephesians 6:13-14 (AMP)
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
The devil wants you to retreat, making you think it is good sense when in reality it is disobedience to God, to the Gospel, therefore sin. Sin separates us from the goodness of God.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
