QUIT REJECTING THE TRUTH

Greetings dear saints of God and others and welcome to our ongoing study of the Bible Book of James. Now to our text for today.
James 1:5-7 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
I left off yesterday talking about acquiring knowledge, knowledge of God’s thoughts, words, and ways, and putting that knowledge to its highest use which is the exercise of wisdom. This is vital in our Kingdom of God journey in the earth and beyond. Same principle operates in the natural as well. This natural world reflects the spiritual and gives us insights into the workings of the spiritual. For example, what were all the farming examples Jesus gave in His Ministry? The more knowledge we have in an area the higher wisdom we can employ in that area and achieve higher levels of success. In the Church all too often I find that people cling to the traditions of men, the doctrines of demons, and sacred cows never studying to prove them. It seems that whatever the person comes to believe early in their salvation walk is what they cling to all their lives. We read yesterday in Hosea how God’s people are perishing because they reject knowledge the truth.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Let’s be those that test what we believe from the full counsel of Scripture. Sacred cows, traditions of men, and doctrines of demons are everywhere in our songs, sermons, and conversations, let’s ferret them out and displace them with the Truth. Well, let’s get pack to our anchor text in James and explore this verse further.
James 1:5 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
The man way that God leads us into His wisdom is by His knowledge. That is study of the Word not just reading. We also can get leadership of the Holy Spirit what is sometimes called the inner witness. Remember the Holy Spirit cannot bring anything to your mind that you haven’t put in there. He may lead you to passages that speak to your particular situation or bring people into your path with answers, knowledge, you are seeking. This verse goes on to say that our Heavenly Father will not scold us or try to shame us because we don’t know and have come to Him for help. Perhaps you have experienced that from family, friends or others.
TAKE HOME:
- We must study to acquire God’s knowledge and then apply that knowledge at its highest level which is called wisdom. Just as knowledge (God’s) is infinite so is its application, we never arrive.
- Quit rejecting the Truth clinging to the traditions of men, the doctrines of demons, and sacred cows. Prove all by the full counsel of Scripture not extrabiblical sources.
- Our Heavenly Father commands us to acquire His knowledge and apply it to our Kingdom walk, to every area of life.
